Lateral Infarction<br />
Criteria:<br />
A. Q wave present in lead I:<br />
1. Q duration > 40 ms.<br />
2. Q amplitude x 2 > R amplitude.<br />
3. Q amplitude > 150 mV.<br />
B. Q wave present in aVL:<br />
1. Q amplitude < 10 mV and R amplitude < 70 mV<br />
and S’ amplitude < 10 mV<br />
and S* > 40 ms.<br />
2. Q* > 40 ms.<br />
3. Q amplitude > 150 mV and (Q amplitude x 3 > R amplitude).<br />
4. Q* < 15 ms and Q amplitude < 70 mV<br />
and R* < 15 ms<br />
and R amplitude < 70 mV<br />
and S’ amplitude < 10 mV<br />
and S* > 40 ms.<br />
• Lateral infarction, probably acute (211)<br />
a. Three conditions of A are met.<br />
AND b. One condition of B is met.<br />
AND c. ST elevation > 250 mV in lead I or aVL.<br />
• Lateral infarction, probably recent or with ventricular aneurysm<br />
(212)<br />
a. Three conditions of A are met.<br />
AND b. One condition of B is met.<br />
AND c. ST elevation > 100 mV in lead I or aVL.<br />
• Lateral infarction, probably old (213)<br />
a. Three conditions of A are met.<br />
AND b. One condition of B is met.
