You will also complete a Creative Craft award<br />
in <strong>Hair</strong>dressing as part of this course.<br />

and successfully complete an interview and trade test to join<br />
this course. Although the course is suitable for those who have<br />
completed Salon Services or <strong>Hair</strong> & <strong>Beauty</strong> Study courses, no<br />

This course will help you develop a practical<br />

Consulting Clients, Cutting <strong>Hair</strong> Using Basic<br />
Techniques, Shampooing, Conditioning & <strong>Hair</strong><br />
Colouring. The course consists of about 60%<br />
practical training and assessment and 40%<br />
theory, including tutorials.<br />
Entry Requirements<br />
You need to have successfully completed the VRQ Diploma<br />
(Level 2) in <strong>Hair</strong>dressing or a Young Apprenticeship in<br />
<strong>Hair</strong>dressing to join this course. You also need a good standard<br />
of written work, Science-based, English and Maths qualifications<br />
and a good working knowledge of IT/Word processing.<br />

<strong>Hair</strong>dressing<br />
This course is designed for students who<br />
have already achieved a Level 2 <strong>Hair</strong>dressing<br />
qualification and worked in industry, but<br />
would like to develop their skills further for a<br />
supervisory or management role. You will have<br />
the opportunity to cover a range of topic areas,<br />
including Product Promotion, Health & Safety,<br />
<strong>Hair</strong>dressing Consultation Services and How to<br />
Creatively Cut <strong>Hair</strong> with a Variety of Techniques.<br />
Assessment will take place in one of our stateof-the-art<br />
salons. There is also an opportunity to<br />
complete an Award in Cutting Men’s <strong>Hair</strong> as part<br />
of this course.<br />
Entry Requirements<br />
You must have a NVQ (Level 2) <strong>Hair</strong>dressing qualification and<br />
relevant experience to join this course.<br />

Intermediate Apprenticeship/<br />
Advanced Apprenticeship (Level 2/3)<br />
<strong>Hair</strong>dressing<br />
On this course you will develop the necessary<br />
skills and experience to work in the <strong>Hair</strong>dressing<br />
industry as a stylist. While at <strong>College</strong>, you will be<br />
based in one of our modern hair salons, giving<br />
you the opportunity to develop and enhance your<br />
practical skills in a realistic working environment<br />
and practise your creativity under the supervision<br />
of highly experienced and qualified teaching staff.<br />
Both courses promote teamwork, good personal<br />
conduct and professionalism.<br />
Entry Requirements<br />
For Level 2, you need three grade Cs or above at GCSE, including<br />
Maths and English, NVQ Level 1 or a Certificate in Salon Services<br />
at Credit or Distinction level. For Level 3, you need NVQ (Level 2)<br />

This qualification is designed as an introduction to<br />
the <strong>Beauty</strong> sector for anyone hoping to eventually<br />
train as a <strong>Beauty</strong> Therapist. It provides you with<br />
an opportunity to develop basic techniques in<br />
manicures, pedicures and skin care. Areas covered<br />
include Presenting a Professional Image in a<br />
Salon, Hand Care, Nail Art, Skin Care, Basic<br />
Make Up and Themed Face Painting/Photographic<br />
Make Up. The course is taught alongside<br />

This course is ideal if you would like to begin<br />
initial training for a career in the <strong>Beauty</strong> Therapy<br />
industry. During this course, you will develop<br />
a comprehensive range of practical skills and<br />
theoretical knowledge covering Health &<br />
Safety, Facial Skincare, Waxing, Manicures,<br />
Pedicures, Eye Treatments, Ear Piercing,<br />
Makeup Application and Reception Duties.<br />
Students will also take advantage of a range<br />
of supplementary courses including Fake Bake.<br />
You will also benefit from professional courses<br />
related to salon products including Hara<br />

This Apprenticeship will help you to develop skills<br />
in a number of areas including Safe & Hygienic<br />
Working Practices, Food Service & Beverage<br />
Service Techniques and Customer Service Skills.<br />
The course is aimed at students working in the<br />

Professional Cookery<br />
This course complements any of the Intermediate<br />
Hospitality Apprenticeships. It is designed for<br />
students interested in working in a supervisory<br />
role. You will develop skills and knowledge in<br />
areas including the Hospitality industry, the<br />
competitive environment, team leadership,<br />
communicating effectively with customers and<br />
managerial administration. At Advanced level,<br />
topics of study are agreed with the Programme<br />
Leader. This course is designed for students<br />
currently in the working environment and will<br />
give you the opportunity to learn, develop and<br />
practice the skills you need to make an effective<br />
contribution to the business at an advanced level.<br />
Entry Requirements<br />
You need a Level 2, Vocational Hospitality qualification and<br />
Level 1 Functional Skills or equivalent in English and Maths.<br />

to a Higher Apprenticeship linked to a Foundation degree in<br />

These Apprenticeships will help you develop your<br />
skills in a number of areas, including; cookery,<br />
Food Hygiene and Kitchen Safety. At Intermediate<br />
level, you will learn to prepare and cook basic<br />
dishes, including soup, fish, meat, poultry and<br />
vegetables. The Advanced Apprenticeship allows<br />
students to build upon this training and develop<br />
their cooking skills further so that they can<br />
produce more complex dishes, as well as fresh<br />
pasta dishes and hot and cold desserts. Both<br />

The BTEC Extended Diploma in Music offers<br />

This qualification provides industry-recognised<br />
occupational standards and is designed as a<br />

Award and a First Aid qualification in your first<br />

This course aims to give students with an<br />
interest in Uniformed Public Services an<br />
opportunity to explore this area of employment<br />
whilst developing relevant personal and practical<br />
abilities. During this course, you will develop<br />
attributes and skills such as teamworking,<br />
self-belief and good timekeeping, as well as<br />
English and Maths skills. You will also complete<br />
qualifications including the Junior Sports<br />
