2009, European Society of Medical Oncology- JGH Supportive and Palliative Care Program<br />

Accorded recognition <strong>for</strong> the second time as an ESMO designated centre <strong>for</strong> Integrated<br />

Palliative Care and Oncology. Award presented in Berlin, Germany. The ESMO Designated<br />

Centers of Integrated Oncology and Palliative Care accreditation program is an incentive<br />

program initiated in 2003. Cancer centres can receive special recognition <strong>for</strong> achieving a high<br />

standard of integration of medical oncology and palliative care.<br />

2009, Canadian <strong>Hospice</strong> Palliative Care <strong>Association</strong> Award of Excellence. This award<br />

recognized the outstanding national contribution of a CHPCA member who exemplifies<br />

professional and/or personal commitment and achievement in the field of hospice palliative<br />

care within Canada. To be a recipient of this award, the nominee must have made an impact<br />
