TEA WITH THE LORD MAYOR AT THE MANSION HOUSE Alderman Fiona Woolf CBE is the current Lord Mayor of London - and as the 686th Lord Mayor is only the second woman to hold the role since its inception in 1189. Fiona is an advocate of diversity in the City, and recently said: ‘I would like to use my Mayoralty to encourage people to put more energy into the diversity agenda. I am talking about everybody regardless of their race, sexuality, gender or disability. A TAXIDERMY LESSON WITH POLLY MORGAN Artist Polly Morgan, a member of the Guild of Taxidermists, creates unnerving tableaux using animals and birds that have met with accidental or unpreventable deaths. These make disquieting observations about mortality and birth. Since its first outing, at the Zoo Art Fair in 2005, her work has been exhibited in commercial galleries and museums both internationally and at home, earning her a growing band of followers and significant media attention. This is a one-off opportunity to be the first person that Polly has ever given a lesson to. You and a friend will be invited to the artist’s Hackney studio to learn the basics of this ancient craft. Bird, and all tools, provided. Lesson to be taken at mutually agreeable time between April 2014 - March 2015.
