Shaun Brosnan is inspired by the sculptures of<br />
Ancient Greece and Rome and the way in which<br />
we can look at fragments of things and<br />
understand them. He works with sheet lead<br />
because it is ‘such a lovely sensual metal’<br />
and his method of beating each piece<br />
into shape means that each work is<br />
completely unique.<br />
Face Fragment is hand beaten from<br />
a piece of Georgian lead that was<br />
given to Shaun. It has a beautiful<br />
fragile quality with an amazing<br />
patina which comes from being<br />
left outside in the English weather<br />
in Kent.<br />
