INITIAL INSPECTION<br />
Please inspect the shipment immediately upon delivery. Check the received goods against the<br />
packing list to insure that all items were received. If the shipment is missing items, or is damaged<br />
in any way, you will need to contact the freight carrier. You should also contact <strong>Kigre</strong>'s<br />
Customer Service Department (the address is on the front page) or your local Representative<br />
for assistance with your claim.<br />
WARRANTY<br />
Unless otherwise specified, all laser power system products manufactured by <strong>Kigre</strong> are warranted to be free from<br />
defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one (1) year following delivery of the equipment to the F.O.B.<br />
point.<br />
Liability under this warranty is limited to, at <strong>Kigre</strong>'s option, repairing or replacing the part or product which is<br />
determined by <strong>Kigre</strong> to be defective during this warranty period, provided prior authorization for such return has<br />
been given by an authorized representative of <strong>Kigre</strong> and the product is returned, prepaid, to <strong>Kigre</strong> within thirty (30)<br />
days from discovery of the defect. Equipment repaired or replaced under warranty are warranted only for the<br />
remaining unexpired portion of the original warranty period.<br />
This warranty does not apply to laser power system products which upon inspection by <strong>Kigre</strong> are determined to have<br />
been damaged through improper storage or installation, misuse, neglect, accident, or for any cause beyond <strong>Kigre</strong>'s<br />
control. Repair or alteration of any part of the laser power system by person other than <strong>Kigre</strong> authorized personnel<br />
immediately voids this warranty.<br />
Buyer assumes all risk and liability for the results obtained by the use of any product delivered hereunder and in no<br />
event shall <strong>Kigre</strong> be held responsible for special or consequential damages or charges. When products manufactured<br />
by others are used in conjunction with <strong>Kigre</strong> equipment, this warranty only extends to the equipment manufactured<br />
by <strong>Kigre</strong>.<br />
This warranty is in lieu of any and all warranties or representations, expressed or implied, and no agreement or<br />
understanding affecting this warranty shall be binding upon <strong>Kigre</strong> unless in writing and signed by an authorized<br />
representative of <strong>Kigre</strong>.<br />
<strong>Kigre</strong> reserves the right to make changes to its products without incurring the obligation to incorporate such changes<br />
in products previously purchased and delivered to the buyer.<br />
RETURN PROCEDURE<br />
Your <strong>Kigre</strong> laser system is designed and constructed to provide years of trouble free service.<br />
Should your system require service, return it to our service facility by contacting our Customer<br />
Service Department for a Return Material Authorization number (RMA#). You will need to<br />
provide the model and serial number of the damaged equipment and a brief description of the<br />
failure. Return shipments should be made prepaid. <strong>Kigre</strong> will not accept C.O.D. or collect return<br />
shipments. Damages caused by inadequate packaging will not be covered under the warranty.<br />

INTRODUCTION<br />
The <strong>MK</strong>-367 (or <strong>MK</strong>-480) laser was developed primarily for the ophthalmic range-finder<br />
markets as a permanently aligned, reliable, low cost laser requiring minimal service and having a<br />
usable life in excess of 300,000 shots. The <strong>MK</strong>-<strong>1000</strong> system adds the following components to<br />
the <strong>MK</strong> series laser:<br />

CONTROL I/O PINOUT (Amphenol #17D-DE-9P, 9pin Dsub connector)<br />
1) 12VDC 1.2A input positive.<br />
2) 12VDC negative (return). Also used as trigger return.<br />
3) Trigger input. 10Kohm input resistance. Requires 10-13 volt amplitude, 100uS pulsewidth.<br />
4) Charge indication output. 12V signal via a 22Kohm current limiting resistor indicates that the<br />
PFN is not fully charged. The laser is ready to fire when this signal goes to 0 volts. 200mA sink.<br />
5) Program voltage input: 10Kohm potentiometer - CW.<br />
6) Program voltage input: 10Kohm potentiometer - WIPER.<br />
7) Program voltage input: 10Kohm potentiometer - CCW.<br />
8) Not used.<br />
9) Not used.<br />
WARNING: A 10Kohm potentiometer must be connected to pins# 5,6,7 before power is<br />
applied to pin #1. Otherwise, damage to the unit will result!<br />

1) TRIGGER + 300V 100mS pulse to trigger transformer for lamp ionization.<br />
2) OUTPUT RETURN Common return for pins #A1 and 1.<br />
4. Trigger Module<br />
! Mounts directly to <strong>MK</strong> series lasers.<br />
! 10KV pulsed output to ionize flashlamp (hard trigger).<br />
INSTALLATION<br />
1. Remove power supply, laser, trigger module, and hand controller from the packing material.<br />
Carefully unwrap each item and inspect for damage. Please contact <strong>Kigre</strong>, <strong>Inc</strong>. immediately if<br />
any damage is suspected.<br />
2. Connect the laser head to the trigger module. Align the three pins and gently push together<br />
until secure. Mount laser head as desired.<br />
3. Connect the trigger module to the HV power supply (unit with PFN). Align the plastic<br />
connector, push in and turn to secure.<br />
4. Connect the hand controller to the HV power supply. Align the 9pin Dsub connector and push<br />
to secure. Refer to the pinout information above when not using the <strong>Kigre</strong> hand controller.<br />
5. Connect the wall mount transformer to the hand controller. The transformer operates only<br />
from 120 volts AC (contact the factory for special AC voltage requirements). Plug the<br />
transformer into a 120VAC outlet. Less than two (2) amps are required, so most outlet types are<br />
acceptable.<br />

OPERATION<br />
1. Start at a lower energy setting until you are familiar with the unit's operation. Adjust the HV<br />
ADJ adjustment knob on the hand controller fully to the left (CCW) to begin.<br />
2. Turn the toggle switch on the hand controller up to enable the high voltage power supply. The<br />
green indicator will light after the PFN is fully charged.<br />
3. Momentarily press the fire button on the hand controller to fire the laser.<br />
WARNING: A sufficient bleed time of at least three (3) minutes should be allowed before<br />
handling and high voltage components or connections!<br />
MAINTENANCE<br />
! No scheduled maintenance is required.<br />
! Failure symptoms should be identified to the module if possible.<br />
! The factory will repair units or sub-assemblies at the prevailing labor and material rates.<br />
Please ensure that a complete description is given of all symptoms and events leading to<br />
failure. This may reduce repair time.<br />
