MEAL PLAN TERMS AND CONDITIONS<br />
In 2010, the University entered into a contractual relationship with Aramark to provide dining services<br />
for the University of Houston-Victoria to serve the needs of students, faculty, and staff. As part of the<br />
partnership, the university has introduced both mandatory and voluntary meal plan programs.<br />
Complete details including plan offerings, weekly menus and other information are available online<br />
at www.<strong>UHV</strong>.campusdish.com<br />
A. General<br />
1. Participants are divided into three groups, further described in Section B:<br />
a. Residential Meal Plan Participants<br />
b. Nonresidential Plan Participants (not a resident at Jaguar Hall)<br />
c. Employee Plan Participants<br />
2. Authorization to Release Personal Information to <strong>UHV</strong> Dining Services<br />
a. Purchaser understands Aramark Food Services has been contracted to provide dining<br />
services for <strong>UHV</strong> and to manage the daily operations of <strong>UHV</strong> Dining Services.<br />
b. Purchaser understands that when purchasing any meal plan from <strong>UHV</strong> Dining<br />
Services, he or she voluntarily authorizes university officials to disclose necessary<br />
personally identifiable information to initially activate the meal plan and then to<br />
validate subsequent meal plan purchases. This information may include name,<br />
student or employee identification number, and barcode assigned. Purchaser further<br />
understands that necessary identifiable information may be released orally,<br />
electronically, or in written form to <strong>UHV</strong> Dining Services.<br />
c. Purchaser understands the Jaguar Card will be used for validation of student meal<br />
plan purchases and the Employee photo ID card will be used for validation of<br />
employee meal plan purchases.<br />
B. Meal Plan Options<br />
1. Residential Lifestyle Plan<br />
a. Resident housing students are required to purchase the Residential Lifestyle Plan.<br />
b. Charges for the Residential Plan are posted to the student’s university account and<br />
payment for these charges are subject to the same payment deadlines as all other<br />
university charges.<br />
c. Allows students to eat “all-you-care-to-eat” at any meal setting. Three (3) meals are<br />
offered Monday – Friday and two (2) meals, brunch and dinner, on Saturday and<br />
Sunday.<br />
d. Meals do not carry forward from meal to meal, day to day, or week to week.<br />
e. Students are allowed only one card swipe per meal and unused meals do not carry<br />
forward.<br />
f. Plan expires at the end of each semester.<br />
2. Nonresidential Block Meal Plans<br />
a. Non-resident housing students may purchase any of several voluntary block meal<br />
plans.<br />
b. Charges for these plans are not posted to the student’s university account and will<br />
pay directly to <strong>UHV</strong> Dining Services at Jaguar Hall.<br />
c. Allows purchaser to eat “all-you-care-to-eat” at any meal offering at any meal any<br />
day of the week.<br />
d. Meal plan is only valid during the semester purchased; unused meals expire at the<br />
end of the semester and do not carry forward.<br />
e. Purchaser is allowed multiple swipes per meal. Guest meals may be swiped on your
card.<br />
f. Several plan options are available. See www.<strong>UHV</strong>.campusdish.com for current<br />
offerings.<br />
3. Employee Meal Plans<br />
a. Available to both <strong>UHV</strong> and Victoria College Faculty and Staff<br />
b. Block 5 Plan includes 5 “all-you-care-to-eat” meals per month.<br />
c. Block 10 Plan includes 10 “all-you-care-to-eat” meals per month.<br />
d. Block 15 Plan includes 15 “all-you-care-to-eat” meals per month.<br />
e. Unused meals expire at the end of the academic year (August 31 st )<br />
C. Meal Plan Restrictions<br />
1. In some instances, a temporary dining card will be issued which will be valid for ten (10)<br />
calendar days until your regular ID card is validated for dining.<br />
D. Cancellations and Refunds<br />
1. Meal plan purchases for Residential, Nonresidential and Employee plans are<br />
non-refundable unless a refund is approved through the meal plan petition process.<br />
a. Refunds for Residential Meal Plans will be credited back to the student’s account.<br />
b. Refunds for Nonresidential Block Meal Plans will be refunded by <strong>UHV</strong> Dining<br />
Services.<br />
c. Refunds for Employee Meal Plans will be refunded by <strong>UHV</strong> Dining Services<br />
2. Residential Students – Housing No Shows/Pre-move in cancellations will be given a 100%<br />
Refund.<br />
3. Residential students who withdraw from the University or are academically withdrawn by<br />
the University must file a petition through <strong>UHV</strong> Dining services for refund consideration.<br />
4. The University reserves the right to terminate meal plan services for failure by the student to<br />
comply with <strong>UHV</strong> Campus Dining policy and procedures or when there is an adverse<br />
change in student status, such as academic or disciplinary suspension.<br />
E. Meal Plan Petitions<br />
Campus Dining Services has a petition process for requesting either a full or partial waiver from the<br />
mandatory resident meal plan, requesting a meal plan refund due to an academic withdrawal, or<br />
requesting a refund of a voluntary block plan. All petition requests are reviewed by committee and<br />
their decision is final. The petition policy and petition request form may be found<br />
