Travel to the Danfoss Loves Park/Rockford Facility
Airports
Chicago- O’Hare Airport
Once you have retrieved your luggage
(and cleared customs, for international
travelers), you can either rent a car or
take a bus to Rockford.
Car rentals: Several of the rental car
companies provide small shuttle buses
or vans that will take you to their rental
offices from various areas around the
airport. For more information, check
with your rental car company or
www.ohare.com.
Bus tickets: Domestic travelers should
follow the red signs to the bus/shuttle
center, where the bus stops outside of
door #4. For international travelers, the
bus leaves from the lower level of the
international terminal, exit 5E.

Rental car agencies are
located inside the terminal,
Lower Level Arrivals. Drive
North on Cicero Ave and
take Interstate 290 west to
Interstate 90 west toward
Rockford.
A bus leaves from in front of
the main terminal building
of Midway Airport and goes
directly to Rockford. See Bus

Car Travel
From Chicago, take I-90 West toward
Rockford. There are four Toll Plazas on
the way: three charge 80 cents and the
last charges $1.60.
Please note:
• The toll collectors only take US
currency.
• Stay to the right and follow the
signs that say “Cash.”
• Avoid the “I-PASS” lanes. These
require a transponder that
automatically deducts your tolls, and
do not allow you to pay with money.
The ride is 1½–2 hours for light traffic
conditions. For hotels C through P,
exit onto US Business 20 (State Street).
Then: for C through N, go west (right)
toward Rockford; for O, go straight; for
P, go to the left.
For A and B, take the East Riverside exit,
which is an additional three miles north
(west) on I-90. This exit has another toll
that requires 30 cents in exact change.
If you are coming from the south using
Interstate 39, you can avoid the tollway
by taking the Harrison Ave. exit. Go
west to the next traffic light, turn right,
then turn right again around the Road
Ranger Gas Station. This road (Bell
School) takes you north to the hotel
area on State Street.
Bus Travel
Van Galder Bus (a Coach USA company)
runs buses from O’Hare and Midway
Airports into Rockford. On the map
below, x
marks the Van Galder bus
terminal. Other yellow areas mark
additional stops at the hotels. For

Training participants from North
America are responsible for making
their own hotel accommodations.
For international travelers, Judy Tarnow
at JudyMT@Danfoss.com will make
reservations for you. Please let her
know if you would like a rental car.
Hotel Shuttles/Taxi
For a ride to the hotel, ask for a taxi
at the ticket office of the Van Galder
bus terminal. For a ride to the Danfoss
factory, ask at the hotel lobby by at
least 7:00 am for a ride at 8:00 am.
If you are staying at the Days Inn or
Holiday Express, they can pick you up
from the bus terminal if you call them
and the driver is available.
Driving to the Factory
Take State Street to Perryville Road.
Turn right (north) on Perryville and
drive about three miles to Riverside
Blvd. Turn right and go east on
Riverside for about ½ mile to Bell
School Road and turn left (north).

It is possible to follow Bell School Road
north through residential areas to get
to the factory. At Spring Brook Road,
Bell School turns to the right, toward
the tollway, but is not marked.
Once at the factory, follow the Visitor
signs and park on the north side of the
building. The receptionist will issue you
a visitor badge. The main entrance is
open from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
