Testimonials From Educators
RE: Nat & Alex Wolff - Formerly with Naked Brothers Band
“Our fifth graders Skyped with Nat and Alex from Naked Band Brothers last Friday. We
had a great experience which led to some great discussions about bullying. We
learned that their bullying issues actually increased as they became more famous,
which surprised us. The bullying did not stop, but they learned skills to help them deal
with the problems better. They pointed out that they were doing what they loved and
that was most important. Others may be jealous or mean, but they strengthened
themselves and moved forward. We enjoyed hearing their music. I'd encourage others
to take advantage of this great opportunity.”
Thanks so much, Michele Watkins, Teacher
“Jeff Rivera did a fantastic job of communicating and organizing our Skype with a celebrity for
Anti-Bullying month! My students were very excited to see and speak with Alex and Nat Wolff,
the Naked Brothers Band from Nickelodeon. They spoke with students about bullying, played
us a new song, and answered students’ questions. Even with some internet connections on
our end, it was a valuable and fun experience for my students. We appreciate this wonderful
offer and all the effort that went into making it come together!”
Program Information
How To Get Started:
A few other important tips:
• Reboot your computer 15-minutes before the Skype and make sure no other
programs are running while you're doing the Skype
• You’ll need to download the latest version of Skype:
PC: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/features/allfeatures/group-video-calls/
Mac: http://www.skype.com/intl/en-us/get-skype/on-your-computer/macosx/
• A regular webcam is fine but if you have a nicer camera that you can plug in, the
better.
• If you have a large group and can plug in a mic and have your students walk up to the
mic and camera, that’s even better because it makes it easier for the speaker to hear
you. If not, that’s fine.
• The Skype speaker will contact you, you don't have to contact us.
• Give us up to 5-minutes extra to contact you via Skype before you need to call us.
• We ask for a very enthusiastic applause. So, please ask your students to do so
beforehand.
A
lso, please assign at least 3 students with questions before hand because after the 15-
minute presentation, there will be a 15-minute Q&A session.
• You're encouraged to take pictures, videos, to blog about the event, to tweet and
Facebook about it as well as contact your local media. We also highly recommend you
mention it in your school newsletter or PTA meetings and that you post any video on
Youtube, SchoolTube, TeacherTube as well as tell your colleagues in any listservs or
message boards. We just ask that you email us a copy afterward with a short email
testimonial telling us how much you and your students enjoyed the event.
• If we would like for you to help us out and record the actual video directly from the
computer, we suggest: http://www.vodburner.com We also recommend you do a
practice session recording a colleague using Skype to make sure all the bugs are
worked out before you try to record the Skype event with us.
