LIVE UNITED®

United Way
Community Campaign
Leadership Giving
hrough gifts of $1,000 or more, leadership
T donors stand up for what we all care about:
successful children; strong and healthy families;
and a safety net of services for those who are
most vulnerable. This special group of caring,
dedicated donors takes the lead in helping to
improve some of our community’s most
pressing health and human service issues.
Leadership gifts through the United Way
Community Campaign help our community
achieve the goals that no organization could
accomplish on its own.
Leadership donors demonstrate a strong
commitment to our community and inspire
others to give, change lives, and improve
community conditions.
Combined Household Gifts
If you and your spouse or partner both donate
through the Community Campaign, your annual
gifts can be combined to achieve recognition at
one of the leadership levels listed below.
LEADERSHIP GIVING LEVELS
Your leadership gift through the United Way
Community Campaign entitles you to recognition
at the following levels:
Tocqueville Society
Gift of $10,000+ annually
Constitution Society
• Founder–$5,000 to $9,999 annually
• Framer–$2,500 to $4,999 annually
• Colleague–$1,000 to $2,499 annually
Tocqueville Society
The United Way Tocqueville Society is named
after the French historian Alexis de Tocqueville
who admired the generosity of Americans and
their willingness to help one another in times
of need with open hearts and no thought of
reward. Right now, we are experiencing one of
those times of great need in our community,
and we look to our most generous of donors,
members of the Tocqueville Society, to stand
up as symbols of that desire to help.
Through their generosity, Tocqueville Society
members express a strong commitment to
our work to advance the common good. In
turn, United Way is dedicated to recognizing
those members appropriately and providing
opportunities for further involvement with
United Way through volunteering, special
events, and regular communication about our
activities and the impact of your investment.
Members of the Tocqueville Society are
recognized for their gift of $10,000 or more in
the local United Way Tocqueville Society and
Constitution Society membership roster and
in the annual United Way of America national
registry. You will also be recognized in the
fall issue of Impact magazine.
Nationwide, there are nearly 23,000 members
of the United Way Tocqueville Society from
425 communities. Locally, Tocqueville Society
members’ gifts total nearly a quarter of all
dollars raised for health and human services
through the annual United Way Community
Campaign.
Constitution Society
The Constitution Society recognizes individuals
who generously contribute $1,000 or more
annually through the United Way Community
Campaign. Contributions from Constitution
Society members represent more than 50
percent of the annual United Way Community
Campaign.
There are three levels of giving within the
Constitution Society: Colleague, Framer and
Founder. Your giving level may already be
near one of these categories. If so, now,
during these especially tough times, is an
opportunity to consider demonstrating
your leadership by increasing your contribution.
Members of the Constitution Society are
entitled to recognition in the Tocqueville Society
and Constitution Society roster of members
and in the fall issue of Impact magazine. In
addition, you will receive regular communication
from us about United Way activities and events.
