They should also be aware of the company’s recent history of firing agents who don’t make their quotas. Either way the agents are screwed. Either they resort to unethical sales practices, for which they could be punished, or they do the right thing by the customer and jeopardize their jobs. I hope that most will choose the righteous path and pick door number 2. I enjoy your magazine so much. Hope things are settling down at Allstate for the agents. At American Family, we are losing them not only because they’re being terminated, but because they are resigning out of fear of being fired. It’s so sad. They are full of information and there is a nice variety of articles. Thanks for all the work you guys put into them. By the way, I recently filed a claim through NAPAA for reimbursement of my E&O deductible. The turnaround time was fantastic! I was surprised how fast and easy it was. If nonmembers were aware of this benefit, I’m sure they would reconsider their reasons for not joining NAPAA. Also, I’ll soon be filing for my CE subsidy reimburse- ment. These benefits alone pay for my NAPAA membership. I am a member of NAPAA and am interested in selling my agency. I have been in business for eight months under the new agent contract. I tried to buy an agency but it fell through, so Allstate ceded it to me and now I’m getting 3.5% renewal commission. Unfortunately, that just isn’t cutting it. I am managing a $2.4 million book with two full time staff and I’ve decided to sell it. I have been reading the information about selling a book on the website and now I am just looking for some more direct information on the process and how to start.
