Dear Mr. Cheliotes:<br />

Re: 2008-2010 <strong>CWA</strong> <strong>Local</strong> <strong>1180</strong> Agreement<br />

This is to confirm certain mutual understandings and agreements regarding the above<br />

captioned Agreement.<br />

a. Funding was not provided to permit the application ofthe general increases to the 15<br />

year longevity increments provided in various separate unit agreements. Therefore<br />

the provisions ofSection 3 (a) ofthe 2008-2010 <strong>CWA</strong> Laea/<strong>1180</strong> Agreement shall<br />

not apply to such longevity increments.<br />

b. Notwithstanding the above, once an employee has completed the 15 years of"City"<br />

service in pay status and is eligible to receive the $925 longevity increment, the $925<br />

shall become part ofthe employee's base rate for all purposes except as provided in<br />

paragraph c. below.<br />

c. The $925 longevity increment shall not become pensionable until fifteen months<br />

after the employee begins to receive such $925 increment. Fifteen months after the<br />

employee begins to receive the $925 longevity increment, such $925 longevity<br />

increment shallbecome pensionable and as part ofthe employee's base rate, the<br />

$925 longevity increment shall be subject to the general increases provided in Section<br />

3 (a) ofthis Agreement.<br />

d. All other provisions ofAppendix A shall remain in full force and effect.<br />
