Which kitchens will make history
in the future
It is not just furniture, clocks, and cars that have
earned a place in the history of design. Kitchens have
done so as well. When the very first SieMatic was
presented in 1960, it was considered revolutionary.
As the SieMatic 6006, it became the most popular
kitchen of its time and remained up to date for
generations.
With the 6006, SieMatic for the first time brought
many things to the kitchen which over time became
the general standard – from a high-precision
measuring system with guaranteed fit to adjustment
mechanisms for the variable utilization of the interior
space; from dust seal stripping for doors and drawers
to the design itself: the SieMatic 6006 was the
world’s first handle-free kitchen, making it the
prototype for many others. But who could develop a
successful idea more ambitiously than its inventor

Every new SieMatic developed in the past five decades set standards in design, function, and perfection. Consistently
dispensing with handles and knobs is also one of the SieMatic innovations, one that became the prototype for many. In 2008
it was the SieMatic S1, whose “integrated” design, great functionality, and exclusive detail solutions provided new impetus,
also earning it 18 awards.
Today, in the year of the 50th anniversary of our brand, we are again writing a new chapter in the history of the “handle-free
kitchen” – with the SieMatic S2. In an age in which many things are becoming increasingly similar, it offers something that is
of special value: character and personality.
The minimalist language of form, the elegance of the interior accessories, the high level of functionality: some things about the SieMatic S2 recall
the award-wining design of the SieMatic S1, and yet, it has a look all its own. It results from the details developed exclusively for the SieMatic S2,
such as the vertical recess channel with dust seal, the open pullouts, the multimedia elements, and the color and material compositions typical
of the SieMatic S2 collection: the contrast of matt and glossy elements within a single world of color produces a discreet, modern interior design full
of sophisticated effects. Another new element in the interior design of the kitchen is provided by the paneled wall cabinets with a depth of 25 cm:
they offer more planning flexibility along with additional storage space.

Like an oasis in the big city, this SieMatic S2 exerts its effect through consistent minimalism and
a light mix of materials: matt lacquer and brilliant white glass along with light shades of stone
and wood. The paneled 25-cm-deep wall cabinets and push-to-open hardware flank the cooking
area and provide additional storage space. The effect of the variations in depth accentuate the
living room character of this plan. The limestone countertop in “Maljat crème” combined with the
light planks of the oak flooring also create a warm and homey effect.
Easy to grip: the ergonomic, optimally shaped
3.5-cm recessed channel, typical of the
S2 design. They optically underscore the desired
lines; whether horizontal or vertical.
The faucet fixture with its intelligent “head
control” is one of the exclusive developments
from SieMatic. All operating functions are located
in the movable head element; the desired
temperature can be preset easily. So you can
always keep one hand free.

The vertical recess channels of the tall cabinets
are a key element in the overall graphic look of
the SieMatic S2. One highlight is the new, tall
multimedia cabinet. As desired, it can integrate
everything that turns your kitchen into living
space: the high-end audio/video system, which
was developed together with experts from T+A,
as well as the SieMaticGrid, a user interface
developed exclusively for SieMatic, which offers
Internet access and numerous other individually
configurable options. The screen integrated in
the front can be pulled out and swiveled easily.
Concealed behind it is useful storage space for
technical utensils. The control strip above the screen
can be used to control many functions – at the
touch of your fingertips or by remote control.

Oven and steamer or microwave installed side by
side at eye level: both convenient and attractive.
Starting now, good entertainment will also be joining
this lineup. The SieMatic tall multimedia cabinet
with integrated screen makes it possible.
The multimedia cabinet offers not only many technical functions,
such as iPod dock, CD, DVD, TV, and radio with the highest
video and sound quality, it also keeps things orderly. For instance,
the “parking space” for the remote control and air mouse.

Still a kitchen or already a living room The language of form of
the SieMatic S2 has the aesthetics of modern living room furniture.
This and the contemporary design of high-quality electrical
appliances provide for elegant integration of the kitchen and its
wide variety of functions into the living area.
Prototype for many: we have been continuously optimizing the
handle-free kitchen since its invention in 1960. Today the look and
feel of SieMatic recessed grips has attained a degree of perfection
that is unparalleled. The 3.5-cm-deep recessed grips of the
SieMatic S2 provide an optimal grip for opening pullouts and doors:
On base cabinets, the 1-cm look of the countertops and side
panels provides an attractive contrast to the depth of the recessed
channel.

In designing the fronts of your SieMatic S2, you can choose from PUR lacquer in high-gloss
or matt, high-quality laminate, and beautiful wood veneer. If you decide on paint, you can
select from beautiful shades, such as lotus white, magnolia white, greige, truffle gray, basalt
gray, sterling gray, amaranth green, saffron yellow, sienna red, terra brown, and black. But
that’s not all. In addition to the attractive color palette of the S2 program, you also have another
range of design choices at your disposal: the 1,950 colors of SieMatic ManufakturDesign.
So you can give your kitchen a unique finish, because each color, even white, is available here
in the finest range of shades.

Sophisticated metallic colors are very popular today in many areas. Now you can even use them to enhance your kitchen. The color “aluminium” adds lightness
to cabinet elements, “gold-bronze” adds a soft sheen to the glass doors of paneled wall cabinets. This effect is created by applying metallic paint to the back sides
of the glass doors. However, they are also available in white and black. As extravagant as these surfaces seem, they are uncomplicated and easy to care for.

Today’s built-in appliances from well-known
brand manufacturers are usually found with
stainless steel or aluminum surfaces. This look
can be combined perfectly with the metallic
shades of the SieMatic S2 program, and their
functions can be integrated unobtrusively

The upper wall cabinet doors also open very
easily thanks to their ideally formed metal strip
handles. All metal strip handles are equipped
with the new, exclusive SieMatic dust seals.
The newly developed paneled wall cabinets with
a depth of 25 cm offer different functions and
thus new options for interior design: they can be
used to structure the space, to cover walls, for
color contrast, to loosen up the design, and to
under score the homey atmosphere. Furthermore,
as additional cabinet elements, they also provide
more storage space. Their handle-free doors
can be opened with a slight pressure.
Minimalist aesthetics call for maximum precision
in workmanship. How much love of detail is
contained in the SieMatic S2 is shown, for example,
in the design of the aluminum side panels:
the perfect craftsmanship of the beveling creates
reflecting lines that underscore the metallic
character of the fronts.
Unusual and homey: the newly developed, open base
cabinet shelves, which continue the dark wood color of
the countertop are as decorative as they are practical.
The shelves can be pulled out for convenient access.
The combination of matt, aluminum-colored fronts, shining
stainless steel countertop, and paneled wall cabinets
with glass doors in a warm shade of “gold-bronze” is as
attractive as it is extraordinary. The effect is accentuated
by the dark, smokey oak of the 8-cm-thick countertop,
which simultaneously acts as the “frame” for the metalliccolored
elements.

In the new SieMatic interior accessories system, high-quality
porcelain is a theme with many variations: with their lids with
glass insets, the decorative porcelain spice jars look good even
on the dining table. The porcelain handles on the foil roll holders
facilitate opening. The angled porcelain knife rack holds knives
of different sizes. The porcelain lids of the containers and wooden
boxes can be used in a variety of ways and can be re-labeled
again and again in pencil.

Attractive and handy: the cutlery insert with fold-up handles can easily be carried into
the dining room or onto the terrace.
Serving tray and chopping board in one: bamboo was selected for the cutting surface on the back
side of the tray because it is a particularly hard wood and will not influence the taste of foods.
