2) High-temperature treatment
• It’s the most common way for treatment of PCBs at
present.
• Simple combustion: By adding a large amount of
fuel and dissolvant, the temperature is raised to up
to 1200 o C-1600 o C in several seconds so that the
disposed transformer oil containing PCBs can
combust and transform into other compounds.
disadvantages: the production of dioxins, benzfuran
and other secondary pollutants.
