The uses of PCBs
• As the insulative fluid in the transformers and capacitors;
• As the medium in the heat-exchange systems and hydrolic
systems;
• As the additives in the production of lubricant, cutting oil,
pesticide, paint, manifold paper, mastic and encapsulant,
etc;
• As the plasticiser in the production of plastics.
Commercial production of PCBs began in 1930 and
were gradually banned after 1977. PCBs is listed
among the organic pollutants in priority control in
many countries.
