• Organ level:<br />

– accumulation of Cd in kidney, which could cause<br />

cell death (cytotoxicity), resulting in dysfunction of<br />

the kidney<br />

– PAHs <strong>and</strong> Lung cancer<br />

• Organism level:<br />

– decrease in production (growth <strong>and</strong> reproduction)<br />

– changes in gene frequency<br />

– decrease in resources acquisition <strong>and</strong> uptake
