This tour varies from flat to hilly fjord terrain. You’ll
visit Rosendal, famous for its Barony, a beautiful
historic manor and estate. You’ll pass through the
village Skånevik, well-known for its Blues Festival and
the idyllic trading station of Bekkjarvik.
Bergen - Rosendal - Skånevik - Stord - Fitjar - Bekkjarvik - Bergen
The trip begins with the expressboat Hardangerfjordekspressen from Bergen to
Rosendal, then You cycle along the Hardangerfjord to Husnes and on to Utåker.
The ferry takes you over to the lovely village of Skånevik. For those who wish
to cycle more, there is a nice detour from Skånevik to Etne and back, before the
expressboat takes you on to Stord. From Stord you cycle to Fitjar and get the ferry
from Sandvikvåg to Husavik.
There’s just a short distance from Husavik to the old merchant centre of
Bekkjarvik, where tasty local cooking and comfortable beds awaits you. In
Austevoll you can take extra trips across the bridge to the islands of Stolmen,
Hundvåkøy and Store Kalsøy, before you get the expressboat back to Bergen.
We recommend you stay an extra night in either Rosendal or Skånevik, since
both places have so much interesting to offer (this will be extra).
