and Algeria) during my tenure of a D. E. S. studentship. I have also
travelled in Germany, Turkey and the Negev desert, as well as taking
part in fieldwork and excavation relating to Hadrian's Wall, the
Stanegate frontier and the Antonine Wall in Britain.
