Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves, each looking out not
for his own interests, but [also] everyone for those of others— (Philippians 2:3-4)
“Etiquette, Please” – Students who are entering grades K-‐2 will have fun learning the basic rules of etiquette. Have a dress up tea party
with your favorite stuffed animals or go through the sharing obstacle course. Students will also practice appropriate manners for church.
Participants will earn a certificate for successfully completing this program.
“Civility Camp” – Etiquette is about knowing the rules, civility is having the right attitude. Students entering grades 3-‐5 will learn about
George Washington’s rules of civility as well as what the Scripture says on how we should treat one another. Students will have fun playing
games and working on projects that help teach civility.
“On My Honor” – This one day workshop for middle school students discusses what it is to be honorable and look at the challenges of
today’s society and teachings of the bible when it comes to being honorable. Students will also have the opportunity to practice their etiquette
and manners at sit down meal. There is a field trip to a local restaurant where students will have fun learning what fork to use when.
Servant Leadership – Servant Leadership is a core value of McDonell Area Catholic Schools. We were called by Christ to be servant leaders.
During this three day camp, students will further their leadership skills and learn how to better serve their community. Students completing this
camp will receive a servant leadership certificate.
“… Our vision of the whole child consists of a lifelong learner, who upon graduation, is academically prepared for post-‐secondary education and career…”
~ from MACS vision statement
College & Career Ready – High school students will have the opportunity to talk with career professionals on resume building and making
good first impressions; learn how to fill out college applications and write college entrance essays; and go on a field trip to visit a college. The
workshops are designed for the grade level.
Socratic Circle of Friends – This program is a summer long program. Students receive a book/activity list of books to read and things to do
to build upon their knowledge. Parents can help them log on to a secure website to post what they thought of the books they read or the things
that they did. On two afternoons during the summer, the students gather to create projects, take virtual field trips and have fun.
