Any piano student in <strong>the</strong> twelfth grade or under. Last year’s first place winners may not compete this<br />
year.<br />
Multiple levels determined by age.<br />
The following prizes are available at each level:<br />
First Place: $50.00<br />
Second Place: $40.00<br />
Third Place: $30.00<br />
Repertoire:<br />
Students must perform three works by three different composers, one from each of <strong>the</strong> following<br />
categories (only composers listed below are acceptable):<br />
1. Any work by J.S. Bach, Couperin, Handel, Rameau, D. Scarlatti or Soler. (One movement of a suite<br />
constitutes a work. A prelude or fugue can constitute a single work, or a prelude and fugue can be<br />
scheduled as a single work).<br />
2. A movement from any Sonata/Sonatina, a rondo, a complete <strong>the</strong>me and variations or fantasia by<br />
Beethoven, Clementi, Diabelli, Haydn, Kuhlau, or Mozart.<br />
3. Any work, including a movement of a sonata by Albeniz, Barber, Bartok, Beach, Bernstein, Brahms,<br />
Carter, Chopin, Copland, Corigliano, Cowell, Crumb, Debussy, Dello-Joio, de Falla, Diamond,<br />
Dutilleux, Faure, Gershwin, Ginastera, Granados, Grieg, Griffes, Ibert, Ives, Kabalevsky,<br />
Khatchaturian, Krenek, Lees, Lowell Liebermann, Jeffrey Lindon, Liszt, MacDowell, Mendelssohn,<br />
Menotti, Messiaen, Muczynski, Persichetti, Piston, Poulenc, Previn, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Ravel,<br />
Schonberg, Schubert, Robert Schumann, William Schuman, Scriabin, Shchedrin, Shostakovich,<br />
Stravinsky, Tchaikovsky, Turina, Villa-Lobos, Carl Vine, George Walker, Weber, or Yardumian.<br />
