Erev Shabbos “Torah” Events Report
$”2"
Dear Parents,
We’ve had a really busy week around
here (aside from some learning here and
there), starting with Tuesday’s Lag B’Omer
Field Day. Kudos to Mrs. Lenet (on crutches)
for her very creative Passport to America
series of activities. We also greatly appreciate
the help of Rabbi Biberfeld, the Sixth Grade
Boys, and Duvie Bergman.
Tuesday’s Evening of Music and Poetry
was a resounding success. Special thanks to
Mrs. Linda Rishe for her gracious hospitality
and to her Gewirtz and Schwartz
grandchildren for their (slave) labor of love.
Mrs. Miri Gottlieb’s Girls’ Choir and Sixth
Grade Girls entertained royally, and Mrs.
Mary Wilhelm’s Sixth Grade Girls’ did a
marvelous job reciting poetry, much of which
was original. Also included on our HaKaras
HaTov list are: Mrs Jodi Mailman, Mrs.
Marlene Teichman, Miss Jackie Baratt, Mrs.
Joan Dasher, Mrs. Adina Gewirtz, Mrs.
Marion Miller, Mrs. Naomi Schwartz, Mrs.
Anne Cohen, Mrs. Michele Levine, and Mrs.
Gila Wakschlag.
Many thanks to Rabbi Samberg for
sharing his personal slide show of
Yerushalayim (which was set to music) which
was shown to many classes.
1G/B had a great time catching and
learning about butterflies on their field trip to
Brookside Gardens.
To Bowie and Back-Trip No. 10
Last night’s trip to Bowie was a huge
success. Our contingent of almost 75 “post –
3:30-classes’-attendees” had terrific times.
Among the highlights of the evening were:
• The “between innings” contest, in which
we also participated. In fact, Huda
Mendlowitz won a $10 gift certificate to
Phillip’s Seafood Restaurant.
• Due to the SRO (sitting room only) crowd,
our gang made many guest appearances
on the stadium’s video screen.
• Visits to the gift shop.
• Visits to the concession stands.
• Catching baseballs.
• Lots of loud cheering.
• Tangentially watching a baseball game.
For the myriad arrangements (including
supper) and for a terrific evening, we thank
Rabbi Hoffman, Rabbi Biberfeld, Rabbi
Samberg, Marlene Teichman and Anne Cohen
and all the following who assisted and/or
came on our journey: Rabbi Reingold, Dr.
Jerry Hawk, Mrs. Abby Pines, Mrs. Joan
Natelson, Mrs. Sorah Rivkah Goodman, Mr.
Seth Shulman, Mr. Ronnie Bergman, Rabbi
Daniel Yelenik, Mr. Marty Byer, Mr. Baruch
Levine, and Mr. Steve Jaffe. Todah also to
our PTA for making it all possible by
sponsoring the dinner and the bus. Special
compliments to all our kids for their very fine
behavior.
