_ PASSENGER EXPENSES EN ROUTE<br />

(A) MEALS, HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONS, GROUND TRANSPORTATION AND<br />

TRANSIT TAXES<br />

(1) IF FOOD IS PROVIDED, IT IS PROVIDED AT NO CHARGE.<br />

(2) HOTEL EXPENSES, CHARGES FOR GROUND TRANSPORTATION<br />

SERVICE, MEALS OTHER THAN THOSE SERVED ALOFT,<br />

AIRPORT SERVICE CHARGES AND TRANSIT TAXES ARE NOT<br />

<strong>IN</strong>CLUDED <strong>IN</strong> PASSENGER FARES:<br />

(A) AT ANY SCHEDULED STOPP<strong>IN</strong>G PO<strong>IN</strong>T ON A S<strong>IN</strong>GLE<br />

CARRIER THROUGH-FLIGHT; OR,<br />

(B) AT PO<strong>IN</strong>TS WHERE CARRIER'S FLIGHT CONNECTS<br />

WITH ANOTHER OF ITS FLIGHTS, OR WITH THE<br />

FLIGHT OF ANOTHER CARRIER, PROVIDED THAT:<br />

(I) A THROUGH-SERVICE EXISTS BETWEEN TWO<br />

PO<strong>IN</strong>TS BETWEEN SUCH CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G SERVICES<br />

OPERATES AND THAT THE FARE FOR THE SAME<br />

CLASS OF SERVICE VIA SUCH CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G<br />

SERVICE IS THE SAME AS OR GREATER THAT<br />

THAT FOR THE THROUGH-SERVICE; AND,<br />

(II) THE PASSENGER, BEFORE ARRIVAL AT THE<br />

CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G PO<strong>IN</strong>T, IS TICKETED OR HOLDS<br />

CONFIRMED SPACE OUT OF SUCH CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G<br />

PO<strong>IN</strong>T; AND,<br />

(III) SUCH EXPENSES SHALL NOT BE ASSUMED<br />

BEYOND THE DEPARTURE OF THE NEXT<br />

SCHEDULED CONNECTION OF THE CARRIER <strong>IN</strong><br />

THE CLASS OF SERVICE FOR WHICH THE<br />

PASSENGER IS TICKETED AND ON WHICH<br />

SPACE IS AVAILABLE, OR BEYOND 24 HOURS<br />

AFTER ARRIVAL AT THE CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G PO<strong>IN</strong>T,<br />

WHICHEVER IS EARLIER; WHERE THERE IS NO<br />

ONWARD FLIGHT OF THE CARRIER SCHEDULED<br />

TO DEPART WITH<strong>IN</strong> SUCH 24-HOUR PERIOD,<br />

SUCH EXPENSES MAY BE ABSORBED ONLY FOR<br />

24 HOURS AFTER ARRIVAL AT THE CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G<br />

PO<strong>IN</strong>T, AND WHERE THERE IS AN ONWARD<br />

FLIGHT OF THE CARRIER SCHEDULED TO<br />

DEPART WITH<strong>IN</strong> SUCH 24-HOUR PERIOD BUT<br />

THE PASSENGER DOES NOT DEPART FROM SUCH<br />

CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G PO<strong>IN</strong>T WITH<strong>IN</strong> 24 HOURS, NO<br />

SUCH EXPENSES WILL BE ABSORBED; AND,<br />

(IV) THE PASSENGER DOES NOT STOP OVER AND<br />

IS NOT TICKETED TO STOP OVER AT THE<br />

CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G PO<strong>IN</strong>T.<br />

EXCEPTION: THIS <strong>RULE</strong> DOES NOT APPLY AT<br />

CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G PO<strong>IN</strong>TS <strong>IN</strong> THE U.S.A. OR<br />

CANADA FOR PASSENGERS ORIG<strong>IN</strong>AT<strong>IN</strong>G<br />

<strong>IN</strong>, DEST<strong>IN</strong>ED TO OR HAV<strong>IN</strong>G THEIR<br />

PO<strong>IN</strong>T OF TURNAROUND <strong>IN</strong> THAT AREA.<br />

THIS <strong>RULE</strong> ALSO DOES NOT APPLY AT<br />

CONNECT<strong>IN</strong>G PO<strong>IN</strong>TS <strong>IN</strong> WESTERN
