We had a great Mothers Day two day show on May 8 and 9th. The weather was wonderful, the arena awesome and we had a great turn out!! We had 55 riders on Saturday and 47 riders on Sunday!! Saturday was exciting with our Silent Auction Baskets, and the D1 members out did themselves making baskets and then bidding on them throughout the day!! There were some real competition going on with a few baskets being very popular with a couple of bidders !! I would like to say thank you to all of the wonderful members who came up with some wonderful and original baskets!! You guys really outdid yourselves! D1 made enough from these baskets and the silent auction to purchase 1 saddle for our Aloha show !! Thanks everyone !! We have Miss CJ Rand is riding grandma Farrell’s horse Ladd, while they hope that Watusi gets pregnant. Roberta is out riding Major who just happens to be Jacks horse, but he seems to put up with Roberta anyway and vice versa. So Jack isn’t riding and comes out to judge and work in the booth. Rodger got to ride a few events on Sunday and Phyllis is taking a break seeing how she had an accident at the Womens ride (SVMH) where she felt it necessary to hit the eject button while riding Remy at Mach 1. Just glad you are OK Phyl. She was on crutches for a few weeks having torn her hamstring... ouch !! But I was told she did get to meet some really cute firemen, so it wasn’t a complete loss !! Our highpoint awards for the combined two day show were some great gift items from Bath and Body Works! I know that some of those highpoint awards were going home to be given to some special moms. And all of us Mothers got some lovely roses and gardenia’s supplied by Arlene Tsuji. Those gardenias smelled so wonderful, thank you !! As always thanks to everyone who pitches in to help make the shows run smooth. The arena was awesome due to all the hard work of our President Rodger Odom. We had lots of help in the booth, Laura Rice, Laura Ledesma, Jack Jiracek, Danna Herchkorn, Phyllis Odom, Farrell Rand and Jeff Arabia. Judges were Jack Jiracek, Arlene Tsuji, Lea Legnon, Dennis Cole, Pam Novinsky, Chris Rowles and Rodger Odom. We also have Tiffany Bisordi apprentice judging. Farrell, thanks for helping me with signups too. Amy Odom worked the snack shack all weekend so that Rodger could work and ride, thanks Amy! And when Ben Novinsky isn’t helping with the parking, he is busy flipping burgers for our lunch or raking the arena. Thanks Ben!! Gene Cruz our sportsman of the year was out working in the arena as usual. Janice Rowles worked the gate most of the day, its a great place for her, she can watch, coach the riders and help all at the same time. To anyone I may have forgotten, I am sorry. But please know that we couldn’t do the shows without all the help. D1 is busy working on sponsors and awards for our big Aloha Show in September. The saddles and buckles have all been ordered and it looks like we are going to have a great show. So watch the web site for the entry form and we hope you can plan to join us. Until next time, be safe and wear those helmets. DISTRICT 2 DIAMOND BAR ARENA - CERES AREA By Ashley Hofman Well our first season as District 2 is over with as of the date of this paper. We had our May show and signed up more new riders at this show. We had an excellent season in signing up new riders, I believe 20 in total, so that’s great. Our May show was small and we were done by noon. We want to thank Dennis and Jennifer Cole again for making the drive to the show to just work. We would really like to Thank You for helping us this first season and making the 1.45 hr drive to just come and work. We had a Two day show on June 5 th , 6 th and this was our last show for this season. With state just around the corner and we have two fairs to attend as a family this was the only weekend we had open to run a June show and no time in <strong>July</strong> before state. We had a nice turnout for the weekend with all the graduation’s and parties going on. Saturday we were done by noon and Sunday we had a bigger turn out but was still done by 1:00. We want to thank those that helped Saturday including Dennis and Jennifer again who came to just work but Jennifer didn’t like not riding so Sunday when she came back she made sure and had someone haul her horse since her trailer had no brakes. We also want to thank the Frates family for coming and helping the whole day on Sunday. Debbie was in the arena and working the gate and Ms. Shelley Nijich came and rode and she also was in the arena working a couple of events. We thank you both along with Jennifer Frates announcing and Robert helping judge all day. This was another family that has helped us all season and if they weren’t able to come and ride Robert always made sure and came and helped judge.We had other help at our show on Sunday also. We would like to Thank; Mr. Lorenzi, Doug Thompson, Mr. Vermilyer , for coming out and helping in the arena. It helps the show run smoother and move along when were able to get help from everyone and it is greatly appreciated. We would also like to Thank Roger and Phyllis Odom along with Lea Legnon who also came as much as they could this season and helped work even if they weren’t riding. We look forward to seeing everyone again after State Show. Watch the website and the Diamond Bar Arena for our future show dates. DISTRICT 4 - SOLANO COUNTY AREA CIRCLE D HORSEMEN http://circledhorsemen.com/index.htm By Spring Krogue District 4’s first show finally got underway, May 15th and 16th we had a two day show. We would like to thank Robert Rosenberger, Phil & Eileen Mazza, Matt Mazza, Dianna Malley and Pete DeGracia for their hard work in getting our arena ready for our show. The two day show was a great success with 35 riders on Saturday and 47 riders on Sunday, thank you to all that came out and participated at the show. We split the arena both days and had arena records broke both days. On Saturday Rocky Merrick and her pony Fanci set two new arena records, Barrels 19.403 and Big T 14.115 and on Sunday Diane Williamson on Whiskey set a new Quads record of 18.644 and a new Single Stake record 9.034, Rocky Merrick and Fanci set two new pony records as well, Birangle 13.986 and Poles I 9.883, congratulations to you both! Our snack bar was awesome as usually serving up delicious hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, quesadillas, nachos and chicken salad, thank you for the awesome food! Article by Eileen Mazza We have had some good shows with arena records being broken both weekends. The ground is fast and everyone is having a good time out here. If you have not made it out here yet please try to get here. You will enjoy the ground and the fun time. Thanks to Robert Rosenberger for the cleaning up the grounds and fixing anything that was broken we are looking good. The Mazza’s removed and put the panels back up so that Dianna Malley and Pete DeGracia could work the ground. WE have a St. Jude’s trail ride on Sat.
