Avoid the $5 Add-on penalty by adding all the events you intend to ride before July 

3, 2010. There will be no penalty for Team Events or adding Jackpots at the show. 

Also, remember there are no post entries. If your entry isn't postmarked by July 3, 

2010 you cannot ride in the State Championship Finals.

State Show Early Arrival Information 

Important - Please read 

The CGA Office will NOT mail early arrival permits for camping and stalls to those 

that have paid for them. You will pick them up at the gate when you arrive. Bolado 

Park will not allow anyone onto the grass before July 19, 2010. If you are planning 

to arrive before July 19 th you will need to stay in the upper parking lot until July 19, 

2010. The gates will be closed each evening at 5:00PM and will not be opened until 

8:00AM. Please plan your travel time to arrive during normal park hours. CGA 

doesn't have the facilities officially until Friday morning, July 24th and we cannot 

make arrangements to have the gates remain unlocked prior to that date. Please 

make sure that you plan to arrive at the park during normal hours so you will be able 

to unload your horses.

PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE 

Hello CGA, 

It’s that time of year again, State show is slowly approaching. Don’t forget entries 

need to be post marked July 3 rd !. I hope to see you all there this year. 

The show schedule is the same as last year and the premium is online for you to 

review prior to showing up. A premium will be given out to all riders when they 

check in. 

Monday will be Tuff Enough to Wear Pink again this year and the Bar-b-cue is 

again on Wendesday afternoon. 

The Teen Game ladies are working on fun games for this year with many new 

prizes to be given away. There is plenty to due at state show for everyone. 

Don’t forget about the Board of Director’s meeting on Saturday. if you’re a district 

delegate or board of director that doesn’t ride you do need to plan on attending 

this meeting. If you are district delegate your district president needs to have your 

name into state office so you can vote at this meeting. 

Look forward to seeing many of you at state show, and I hope everyone enjoys 

state show.

"The Judge’s Corner" has appeared in this paper with a varying degree of regularity since 

1991. CGA Judges, Members and Work Crew are invited to submit difficult calls or 

unusual questions that occur so that others can learn from their experiences. The best 

ones (unusual or just plain odd) will be printed here. 

If you have input for this column, please send your question to the CGA State Office. Your 

question will be answered by a Master Judge and the Rules Chairman. If there is any 

disagreement, it will be submitted to the Rules Committee and MAC for final resolution.

Q - Is is OK to set up two keyholes in an open arena and alternate riders back from 

one to the other. 

A - No, you are only allowed to have one event set up at a time in the arena. 

Sometimes an event is set up in two different arenas (or in an arena split with 

delineators and caution tape) - if two courses are being used, it is customary to 

assign riders by division to the different courses. For example, at state show when 

there are multiple arenas with the same event, one arena will start with open pony, 

move to AAA+ and then AAA; the other arena will start AA, move on to A and 

complete with Future Champion. 

Q - If an animal measures over 54" and does not qualify as a CGA pony, is there a 

waiting period before for the animal can be measured again. 

A - No, the rule states that a pony may only be measured once per measuring 

session.

Races. The sponsor fee is $150.00. Sponsorship monies can come 

from a District, an Individual or a Business. There are 13 events. The 

event sponsored will be awarded on a first come first serve basis. The 

$150.00 fee covers the cash award to the Match Race Champion and 

the Belt buckle. If you or someone you know would be willing to 

sponsor please contact the CGA State office by calling 

(831) 623-9026. 

The sponsorship fees may be tax deductible as an advertising 

expense, however CGA recommends that you consult your local tax 

person.

Northern Classic 2010 started off with heavy rains on Thursday afternoon into the evening. We can’t thank our ground crew 

enough Eric Martin, Dennis Cole, Skip Hofman & Rodger Odom, for their wonderful dedication to “THE SHOW MUST GO 

ON”. You guys ROCK! 

Friday after canceling setups due to the mud pit in the arena, everyone had a little extra time to visit and relax. Saturday 

morning we awoke to a beautiful sunny day and our first day of competition. The sun continued to shine all weekend long. 

We had some smokin times ran by ponies and horses throughout the weekend so all that rain must have been good for the 

ground. We were able to run setups each afternoon after the show so everyone needing their times had a chance to get 

them. 

Sierra Madrigal and Nathan Rowles ran neck n neck all weekend for the AAA+ division championship, with Nathan nudging her out by just a few points. I’m sure Sierra 

was okay with that since she completed her hall of fame on Monday afternoon with her poles I run. Sierra also ran a 6.930 Keyhole on Saturday which would have broken 

the Bolado Park State Show record. 

Carole Lindstrom showed up the youngsters by taking the AA championship by 6 points. Way to go Carole! 

We had great food in the snack bar provided by the “Jew Jew Bean Cafe” and kept me from having to cook dinner after working all day. 

CGA would like to thank John Durden of Durden Engineering for donating the water truck even though we didn’t need it much after Thursdays rain. Also a Big Thank You 

to Pringle Tractor and Rodger Odom for donating the tractors for us to use. 

A big thank you to district’s 1 & 2 for hosting Northern Classic so we could have a show. District 32’s Robert Frates was a huge help with setting up the arenas, judging 

and anything else we needed help with. Robert even got “Misses Vice President” Debbie to come and help in the arena as well as Shelly Njirich. Now that we have these 

ladies broken in we are sure we will see them helping out at State. 

To all the judges, time writers, gate swingers, arena workers, etc. we couldn’t put on a show like this without all of your help so a huge THANK YOU to all of you. CGA 

really has some wonderful families that come out to support this GREAT organization.

It started out with a bang! Thanks to all the great people who worked behind the lines, Spring Classics 2010 was a huge success. With the changing of venues from Camp 

Pendleton to the Circle RT arena in Glen Avon, Riverside area. Randy Young as show manager and Andy Krogh as assistant show manager along with Randy’s family and 

numerous people who stepped in to assist, made it a successful show. Kudos to all, I think you all know who you are! 

It started early in the week with prepping the ground. With Jerry Yunker taking his tractor down to the arena and Randy watering the ground, made it very fast and safe. It sure did 

pay off! Many great 3A+ and supreme times were ridden that weekend. Many riders were very surprised that they made faster rides than they were use to! Many riders came 

closer to reaching their goals for the season. Thank you so much Jerry & Randy! Also, Randy wants to send out a huge thank you to Bill Anderson for all his hard work with 

helping water the arena during the weekend. 

The parking lot layout with the chalk was done a few days prior by Randy Young and Diana Wehrli. As Friday rolled around, Dave Mettler made sure that everyone found a place 

to park and camp. It was tight but people were very understanding and accommodating. Thank you Diana and Dave! 

Friday came and we started our set ups on time @ 12 noon. Thank you to Janet Young and Rita Newell as the arena managers, we were done around 6pm. We averaged about 36 

riders. 

Saturday came and so did mother nature’s wrath. It was very calm in the early morning, but around 8 AM, the Santa Ana winds started to blow with gusts somewhere around 60 

mph. Some real good gusts forced us to change Fig. 8 Flags to Fig. 8 Stake. We started the show about 3 hrs. later @ 12 noon. Still with wind gusting off and on. We were able to 

run the entire day and finish up around 6 pm. We did manage to get our grand opening ceremony in before it got too windy. We were treated with a duo of our National Anthem 

sung by Rhyannon Young and her father Randy. They sounded very good together! Our state flag was carried by Monica Michaels and the US flag was carried by Madi 

Meadors. We also had Emily Harris a CGA princess present for the show to ride in grand entry and hand out the Hi Point awards with Randy Young. After the show the management 

enjoyed a fabulous Carne Asada burrito dinner with all the trimmings compliments of Randy Young and Conrad Fimbres. 

Speaking of great food! District 33 V-Spurs ran the most awesome cook shack. We had all kinds of great food to dine on before, during and after the shows. They had special 

dinners every night after the show. Very reasonable prices and nice folks to run it! Special thanks to the Krogh’s, Rosenberry’s and Anderson families for a super job! 

Sunday started at 8 AM sharp! we finished 8 events by 2:30 PM. Both Sunday and Monday were very smooth running shows. I want to send out a very special thank you to 

Kelly Pierce and Samantha Pidkowicz for assisting me. I also want to acknowledge Diana Wehrli and Cindy Hoffman for helping out with check ins. The office ran so smooth. Also 

thank you so much to all the workers who stepped up above and beyond to help make the events run smooth and fast. You are all great people! 

We also had a photographer come and take pictures of many riders for your pleasure. You can check those pictures out on her website @ jamiesnyderphoto.photoreflect.com. 

She took some real awesome pics! Thanks Jamie! 

Thank you to Ryhannon Young, Monique Fimbres and Korynne Perry for handing out awards and money all weekend. These girls did a fantastic job.

We had a great Mothers Day two day show on May 8 and 9th. The weather was 

wonderful, the arena awesome and we had a great turn out!! 

We had 55 riders on Saturday and 47 riders on Sunday!! Saturday was exciting with 

our Silent Auction Baskets, and the D1 members out did themselves making baskets 

and then bidding on them throughout the day!! There were some real competition

Bisordi, # 7 was a cookie jar, cookies, a cookie sheet, glasses for the milk and oven mitts 

by the Mount Family, # 8 was a Martini basket with glasses, vodka and Lemon Drop 

mix by Phyllis Odom , # 9 was a star bag, with a tote, a fuzzy throw, and body lotions by 

the Novinsky family, # 10 was the Movie night basket, with 2 DVD’s, popcorn, Hot 

Chocolate mixes and marshmellows, by Lea Legnon and # 11 was a huge basket full of 

dental products, an electric toothbrush, a water pic, toothpaste, floss etc by Laura Rice. 

I would like to say thank you to all of the wonderful members who came up with some 

wonderful and original baskets!! You guys really outdid yourselves! D1 made enough 

from these baskets and the silent auction to purchase 1 saddle for our Aloha show !! 

Thanks everyone !! 

We have Miss CJ Rand is riding grandma Farrell’s horse Ladd, while they hope that 

Watusi gets pregnant. Roberta is out riding Major who just happens to be Jacks horse, 

but he seems to put up with Roberta anyway and vice versa. So Jack isn’t riding and 

comes out to judge and work in the booth. Rodger got to ride a few events on Sunday 

and Phyllis is taking a break seeing how she had an accident at the Womens ride 

(SVMH) where she felt it necessary to hit the eject button while riding Remy at Mach 1. 

Just glad you are OK Phyl. She was on crutches for a few weeks having torn her 

hamstring... ouch !! But I was told she did get to meet some really cute firemen, so it 

wasn’t a complete loss !!

We had several AAA+ and a couple of Supreme times run over the weekend. Our 

highpoint awards for the combined two day show were some great gift items from Bath 

and Body Works! I know that some of those highpoint awards were going home to be 

given to some special moms. And all of us Mothers got some lovely roses and 

gardenia’s supplied by Arlene Tsuji. Those gardenias smelled so wonderful, thank you 

!! 

As always thanks to everyone who pitches in to help make the shows run smooth. 

The arena was awesome due to all the hard work of our President Rodger Odom. We 

had lots of help in the booth, Laura Rice, Laura Ledesma, Jack Jiracek, Danna 

Herchkorn, Phyllis Odom, Farrell Rand and Jeff Arabia. Judges were Jack Jiracek, Arlene 

Tsuji, Lea Legnon, Dennis Cole, Pam Novinsky, Chris Rowles and Rodger Odom. We 

also have Tiffany Bisordi apprentice judging. Farrell, thanks for helping me with signups 

too. Amy Odom worked the snack shack all weekend so that Rodger could work 

and ride, thanks Amy! And when Ben Novinsky isn’t helping with the parking, he is 

busy flipping burgers for our lunch or raking the arena. Thanks Ben!! Gene Cruz our 

sportsman of the year was out working in the arena as usual. Janice Rowles worked 

the gate most of the day, its a great place for her, she can watch, coach the riders and 

help all at the same time. To anyone I may have forgotten, I am sorry. But please know 

that we couldn’t do the shows without all the help. 

D1 is busy working on sponsors and awards for our big Aloha Show in September. 

The saddles and buckles have all been ordered and it looks like we are going to have a 

great show. So watch the web site for the entry form and we hope you can plan to join 

us.

DISTRICT 2 

DIAMOND BAR ARENA - CERES AREA

Well our first season as District 2 is over with as of the date of this paper. We had our 

May show and signed up more new riders at this show. We had an excellent season in 

signing up new riders, I believe 20 in total, so that’s great. Our May show was small 

and we were done by noon. We want to thank Dennis and Jennifer Cole again for 

making the drive to the show to just work. We would really like to Thank You for 

helping us this first season and making the 1.45 hr drive to just come and work. 

We had a Two day show on June 5 th , 6 th and this was our last show for this season. 

With state just around the corner and we have two fairs to attend as a family this was 

the only weekend we had open to run a June show and no time in July before state. 

We had a nice turnout for the weekend with all the graduation’s and parties going on. 

Saturday we were done by noon and Sunday we had a bigger turn out but was still 

done by 1:00. 

We want to thank those that helped Saturday including Dennis and Jennifer again who 

came to just work but Jennifer didn’t like not riding so Sunday when she came back she 

made sure and had someone haul her horse since her trailer had no brakes. We also 

want to thank the Frates family for coming and helping the whole day on Sunday. 

Debbie was in the arena and working the gate and Ms. Shelley Nijich came and rode 

and she also was in the arena working a couple of events. We thank you both along 

with Jennifer Frates announcing and Robert helping judge all day. This was another 

family that has helped us all season and if they weren’t able to come and ride Robert 

always made sure and came and helped judge.We had other help at our show on 

Sunday also. We would like to Thank; Mr. Lorenzi, Doug Thompson, Mr. Vermilyer , for 

coming out and helping in the arena. It helps the show run smoother and move along 

when were able to get help from everyone and it is greatly appreciated. We would also 

like to Thank Roger and Phyllis Odom along with Lea Legnon who also came as much 

as they could this season and helped work even if they weren’t riding. 

We look forward to seeing everyone again after State Show. Watch the website and the 

Diamond Bar Arena for our future show dates. We wish everyone good luck at state 

show this year and if your a new member, State Show at Bolado Park is something to go 

see if you don’t want to ride.

District 4’s first show finally got underway, May 15th and 16th we had a two day show. 

We would like to thank Robert Rosenberger, Phil & Eileen Mazza, Matt Mazza, Dianna 

Malley and Pete DeGracia for their hard work in getting our arena ready for our show. 

The two day show was a great success with 35 riders on Saturday and 47 riders on 

Sunday, thank you to all that came out and participated at the show. We split the arena 

both days and had arena records broke both days. On Saturday Rocky Merrick and 

her pony Fanci set two new arena records, Barrels 19.403 and Big T 14.115 and on 

Sunday Diane Williamson on Whiskey set a new Quads record of 18.644 and a new 

Single Stake record 9.034, Rocky Merrick and Fanci set two new pony records as 

well, Birangle 13.986 and Poles I 9.883, congratulations to you both! Our snack bar was 

awesome as usually serving up delicious hamburgers, chicken sandwiches, 

quesadillas, nachos and chicken salad, thank you for the awesome food!

We have had some good shows with arena records being broken both weekends. The 

ground is fast and everyone is having a good time out here. If you have not made it 

out here yet please try to get here. You will enjoy the ground and the fun time. Thanks 

to Robert Rosenberger for the cleaning up the grounds and fixing anything that was 

broken we are looking good. The Mazza’s removed and put the panels back up so that 

Dianna Malley and Pete DeGracia could work the ground. WE have a St. Jude’s trail 

ride on Sat. June 26 at Lagoon Valley come on out and join us for a nice ride and BBQ

Our May 8th show was a little bigger than our last show. We had 47 riders come out 

for some great runs on some really good ground. The Late Night Riders’ own Anna 

Rose on Lil Brat had an awesome day including two Supreme times and 3 AAA+ times. 

Anna and Lil Brat set new arena records for Ponies with a smokin’ 18.865 in Barrels and 

in Single Stake with a scorching hot time of 9.463. Congratulations Anna and Lil Brat. 

A big Late Night Riders Welcome to new riders: Katie Evans on Mack; Susan Evans on 

Soldier Boy; Nicholle Herzog on Reba; Cheyenne Kinney on Emma; and Jade White on 

Peptos Blue Doc. 

Of course the volunteers who work are the reason the riders can ride. In many cases, 

the workers are also riders which just proves that gymkhana riders will do anything to 

ride!!! Working in the booth as Announcers/Time Writers: Bob Scott, Teresa Barosso, 

Victoria Scott, Renee Birdsong, and Kim Vollmer. Our Judges were: Gerry Lee Azevedo, 

Teresa Barosso, Judy Sharp, and Lea deMontigny. Apprentice judge - Victoria Scott. 

Hanging out at the Gate was Maria Rodriguez, Kiana Harmon, Shirley Garret, Donna 

Witkowski, and Audra Green. Setting up and taking down the obstacles and helping in

The next show was May 22 and we only had 23 riders. The weather was perfect, in the 

mid 70’s with a light breeze blowing all day. There weren’t any new arena records set 

this time. Amber Castle-Keane was back from her honeymoon in New York with new 

hubby - Jamie. Welcome back to you both. 

Nina Ketcherside rode her young mare - Definitely Dreamin in all the events for the first 

time and did just great. Welcome back to Sidney Zullo on Toby, Kelly Croffoot on Sam 

and Selena Gayden on Snickers. 

As always we must thank those folks who worked this show. Working in the booth as

Because the show was so small and we were done so early we ran the remaining 6 

events as set ups. That seemed to be a popular decision and everyone that needed 

times was really happy to get another chance. 

The next show was our 2 Day Buckle Series with three piece custom silver buckles from 

Silverado Silversmiths in Apple Valley. This was our first “night” show of the 2009- 

2010 season and we caught a few folks by surprise. They turned out at the usual 

8:00a.m. sign up time except there wasn’t anyone there. Hmmmmm. It’s been up on the 

Latenightriders.org website in highlighted yellow for two weeks. 

There were only 39 riders on Sat. June 5th and the ground was once again - very good. 

There were a total of 3 Supreme rides and 16 AAA+ rides. Anna Rose on Lil Brat broke 

her own Single Stake Pony Record set on May 8th. The new Pony Single Stake Record 

is 9.316. Kayla Mitchell on Bar De Pavo set a new Horse Arena Record in Barrels with a 

17.987. Congratulations to Kayla and Anna. Those records might stand for a while. 

The Late Night Riders would like to welcome new riders in District 5 and welcome back 

some old friends that we haven’t seen in a while. We are so happy to see Valerie 

Constancio on No Wanna Smoke DePot ( not too sure about the horse’s name.....) and 

we don’t know how long it’s been since we’ve seen Lucy Dickinson riding Mr. Lee. 

Gosh it’s like old home week with Jessica Martin bringing in two horses to try to reclaim 

her arena records. Welcome back to John Kresha on Radar. Welcome to new riders 

Katie Perryman on Lady, Debra Wolley on Biszoni-Phoenix, Amber Woolever on Angel 

and Jeff Thompson on Orchid. 

When we arrived to set up the show we discovered that the lock on the equipment end 

of our container was jammed. It seems that someone tried to break in and succeeded in 

jamming the lock so bad that we couldn’t get the container open to get out the 

equipment. After several different ideas, Luke Brymer arrived with a torch and soon 

had the container opened and the metal straightened out so we could re-lock it with a 

new padlock. Thank you Luke.

By the time you’re reading this you’re seriously getting ready to head out to State 

Show and the 5th Annual Firecracker Frenzy will be in the record books. 

It’s a time for reflection on how much we appreciate CGA and it’s members. Each and 

every rider and their families are so very special in their own right and we can’t thank 

them enough for continuing to support the local districts and the greater organization. 

We are constantly amazed by the number of people who make their way down or up to 

Salinas every 4th of July weekend to participate in our Firecracker Frenzy.

A show of this size is not an easy undertaking and there are so many people and 

sponsors to thank. Without them the dream would just that and no more. So thank you 

to all of you who support the Frenzy either by riding, working or sponsoring. We’ll

May was finally the first month that we didn’t have to seriously worry about rains, our 

third weekend proved to be the one and only that didn’t threaten with rain. We had a 

few sprinkles, but those were welcomed. We were pleasantly surprised by the number 

of riders in attendance both days. It’s so nice to see you all! We had a lot of conflicts 

with riders and parents who had multiple activities that weekend, but the gang banned 

together to get the job done. Dance recitals, volleyball, SATs, and other stuff did not 

keep us from having a great show both days.

Thanks to all who came out to our May 23rd show! It was a wonderful day of fun and 

friends. The weather cooperated: sunny and breezy all day. Everyone who came had a 

great time! (And if you didn’t, please let us know so we can make sure that you do next 

time!) A huge thank you to all our wonderful volunteers! We couldn’t have done it 

without you. Help in the booth, the gate and the arena is essential and some of you 

were working those positions all day! I hope you all got your raffle ticket reward. 

Speaking of raffle tickets, the Raffle Queen, Kristin Praly, had a wonderful spread of 

items to choose from. But if you thought the May raffle was okay, just wait until our 

June show! It is going to be a patriotic theme just in time for the Fourth of July. Mark 

your calendars for June 26th AND 27th. That’s right. A two day show! Please contact 

the owner, Ty Locatelli, to reserve stalls. Overnight boarding is available for $10/horse/ 

night. Contact Ty Locatelli at 247-3802. 

We’re not sure yet about camping on the grounds; however, there is a campground 

nearby. Check out tent or trailer camping at Redwood Resort in Boulder Creek: http://

We had our May 8 th show at Railhead. It was quite a challenging show, but we got 

through it with flying colors. Thanks to everyone for their patience!! I was glad to hear 

that Brianna Rubio and her horse are both ok!! They both gave us all quite a scare. 

Well, we had about 28 riders which included 2 new riders. I would like to welcome our 

new riders, Vanessa Gilliam and Elizabeth Mueller. We also had quite a few new horse 

and rider teams. We had Brook Grenamyer/Dance Partner, Samuel Grenamyer/Dance 

Partner, Heather Grenamyer/Dennis, Ashley Hardisty/Wellington, Floya Hull/Delight, 

Jacob Smith/Norman and Pryce Swenson/Dinky. Wow!!! 

I would like to thank all of our judges for coming out to help. I would also like to thank 

Rhanda Pauly and Sharon Lawson for all of their help in the booth. You ladies are 

fantastic!!! We had our 50/50 drawing which was won by Shelby Duggers grandma, 

Dorothy. She won $33.00!!! This is such a great way to raise extra money for our club. 

Thanks for all of your support!!! 

We had our first night show on May 15 th at Paloma Creek. This show went off 

smoothly and without a hitch!!! We had 37 riders. It was such a nice day! We had one 

new rider! I would like to welcome Julie Shiffrar riding her grandma’s horse Saintly 

Pepper. We had one new horse and rider team with Brianna Rubio riding Floya’s horse 

Foxy. They make a great team. Nikki Egyed moved up a division on Flying Cayman 

from FC to A Division. Congratulations Nikki!!We had 4 AAA+ times. Christopher 

Rowles/Copper ran a 10.609 in Poles 1, Margo Abatti/Mystery Sign ran a 9.511 in Hurry 

Scurry and Sierra Madrigal/Bubba ran an 18.502 in Barrels and a 9.531 in Hurry Scurry.

Although our season is over there is still a lot of Gymkhana going on and we still have 

our year end awards party coming up on Sunday, July 11 at the picnic ground at 

Howard Park. At our board meeting we discussed the fact that several of our members 

will be riding in the big two day show at Vacaville that week end and may not make it in 

time for our awards. We thought about having the party later in the day but decided 

it’s too hard for families with young children and early morning jobs to be out late on a 

Sunday. We did bump our time back to 1 PM for our Picnic which will be a fabulous 

spread put on by SOB with Pulled Pork or Tri Tip Sandwiches, baked beans. salad, a 

drink and “Pudding Shooters” what ever that is. Sounds great. The meal will be free 

for all riders and their families as long as they RSVP so either email or call me or 

Amanda and tell us how many if you want to come . This is a great party for all to 

enjoy whether you signed up for year end or not. 

Northern Classic was held at Bolado Park in Hollister over Memorial Day week end. 

Joyce Driggers and I went and had a great time. The camping there is great and the 

weather was good once they got the mud dried up from the sky opening up on 

Thursday. The guys worked very hard on the arena and had it in pretty good shape by 

show time. 

Hello Everyone, Another show completed in a timely fashion. Although our entry’s 

have been down a bit, I still attribute our smooth running shows to all our volunteers. I 

have to say I do see the same lovely faces every time. So if you know who you are 

thank you again and if you know I haven’t seen your face so much, it would be nice to 

see some new faces. 

By the time you all read this we will be close to our State Show. It looks like our Dist. 

will have a nice showing this year. It sure is fun at Grand Entry to have alot of members 

to represent! 

Our next show is July 18th and then we will be starting the next season in August 

again. 

Don’t forget to sign up for club year end awards. The deadline will be this coming 

November & just for signing up you will be guaranteed a embroidered hoody. There 

will be no year ends this year do to the low turn out. Your monies will be forwarded to 

the next season. Thank you again for all of your support.

Once we all recover from the Frenzy it’ll be time for State Show back in Hollister. Our 

district is teaming up with District 5 to do our share at the show. We’ll be in charge of 

KeyHole both for set up on the first Saturday and the regular event on Friday, the last 

day of the show. We have to have the people to man the booth, set up the event, 

judge, do the gates, and everything that is required to run a class act Key Hole just like 

we do it at Ione. So please let us know if you are going to go to State so we can count 

on you for a little help. 

Speaking of State Show, if you are going and want to ride in the Grand Entry with us 

Lisa Bradley is making shirts for us to wear. They will be red, long or short sleeved 

button down shirts in men’s and women’s sizes with horse shoes and your name on 

the left pocket, our logo on the back and District 27 down the sleeve. Lisa is offering 

District 27 riders these shirts or Hoodies at a fantastic price of $30.00. You will need to 

order yours by July 5. I want one of these shirts whether I go to State or not!! She has 

finished our great new Red White and Blue flag and if we have a nice group all in Red 

Shirts we’ll look great. If you are interested in carrying our flag in the grand entry 

please let us know.

Riders may optionally enter a jackpot for any or all of the regular events. The cost is an additional $5.00 

per event, and a rider may choose to enter the Jackpot for none, some, or all of the regular events. These 

jackpots are unrelated to the rider’s division or age, and whether or not they are riding a horse or a pony. 

They are based strictly on the time the rider achieves in that event. Only the times of the Riders entering 

the Jackpots count. The size of the payout is determined by the number of riders in the jackpot. The 

Payout is: 

Fastest ride - 40 % of the jackpot 

2-D ride - 30 % of the jackpot
