ITDC achieves a turnaround and records profits
India Tourism Development
Corporation (ITDC) conducted
its 47th Annual General Meeting on
26th September, 2012 at the Group’s
flagship hotel, The Ashok.
➢ The Corporation closed the year
with an all round increase in the
performance as compared to the
previous financial year. The turnover
of the Corporation has increased
from Rs. 392.36 crore to Rs. 423.06
crore registering an increase of 7.82%.
➢ After suffering losses in the past two
consecutive years i.e. in 2009-10 and
2010-11, the Corporation has earned
profits. Against a loss of Rs. 11.73
crore during 2010-11 and a loss of
Rs. 20.51 crore during 2009-10, the
Corporation has earned a profit of
Rs. 22.02 crore (before tax).
➢ There has been consistent
improvement in the performance
of the Corporation during past two
years, both in terms of the turnover
as well as in profitability/reduction in
losses as per the details: -

could not distribute dividend to its

perform even better in the coming
years, both in terms of profitability

a significant improvement in the
operational efficiency. Further, the
turnover of almost all the operational

not only in the existing verticals of its
business but is also trying to venture
into new areas. Efforts are also
being made to upgrade the existing

Ms. Mary Kom being felicitated by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs
The Ministry of Tribal Affairs were the first to felicitate the Olympic Bronze
Medal Winner in Women Flyweight Boxing, M.C.Mary Kom, India’s boxing
sensation on her arrival at The Ashok on 14th August, 2012. She was honoured with
a Special Incentive Award of Rs. 10.00 lakh for making India proud. Mary Kom is
also the First Recipient of Best Tribal Achiever Award in the field of Sports by the
Ministry of Tribal Affairs.

Tilyar Lake, Rohtak
ITDC would soon be involved in the task of implementation of a multimedia/
laser show at Tilyar Lake, Rohtak. The show would be installed using the water
body of the Lake, by creating a water screen. The contents of the show would be
based on the history of Rohtak, Haryana. Detailed Project Report has already been
submitted by ITDC. Survey of the site was initially made in August by ITDC
Officials Shri R.N. Kumar, DGM (E&M), Shri Naveen Rohilla, AM (E&M) with
SDM Rohtak and Senior Officials of Haryana Tourism. The local Media covered
the news extensively. Recently, Dr. Lalit K. Panwar, VC&MD, ITDC also visited the
site for the multimedia show. It is expected that the site once developed would be
comparable to the recreation facilities as exist at Sentosa Island, Singapore.

ITDC’s HRD Division organized the
lecture on “Ethical Leadership and
Values in Management Practices based
on the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi”

Buddhist Caves, Kanheri (Maharashtra)
(v) Megalithic Bridge on the Um-

The Ministry of Tourism will engage the
Quality Council of India (QCI) for an
independent and objective evaluation of
the state of cleanliness specific to each
monument chosen for adoption. The
QCI will classify the improvement over
the adoption period as “Average”, “Good”,
“Very Good” and “Excellent.” Based
on the QCI classification, the Ministry
will extend awards with citation to the
adopters.
