Quality and performance in maintenance and repair
The unusual dimensions and weights of chassis,
turret, engine and transmission call for equipment
that copes with these dimensions throughout
the whole maintenance and repair process.
Chassis
With many years of experience and the know-how gained from
overhauling more than 10,000 track vehicles, FFG is able to
carry out all maintenance and repair work on the Leopard 2
chassis, from simple fuel and control system assemblies, suspension
assemblies, electric and hydraulic assemblies, to complex
welding work on the hull, which FFG is of course certified for.
Our maintenance and repair service is completed by:
• In-house department for surface treatment
• Driving range for vehicle tests
• Individual manufacturing of spare parts which are not
available
• A large range of test devices for Leopard 2 components
• Strong worldwide logistics network for spare part
procurement
Our skilled staff has all modern diagnostic, maintenance
and test instrumentation at its disposal
to ensure professional maintenance and repair.
This also applies to jobs on site, at home and
abroad.
In addition to DIN 9001, FFG meets all NATO AQAP requirements.
All these individual features make FFG a reliable partner
for our international customers, for the maintenance, repair and
general overhaul of the Leopard 2 and guarantee optimal quality,
flexibility and reliability.
Power pack
Engine
With the experience from the successful overhaul of more
than 9,000 engines and with engine test benches with a braking
power of up to 1900 kW, FFG can overhaul the complete
Leopard 2 engine, including all components. The overhaul is
documented by the protocol of the successful test run on our
test bench.
Transmission
FFG is a reliable partner of the German Armed Forces
for the maintenance of all HSWL 354 transmissions of the
Leopard 2, except the transmission with reinforced brake,
NSN 2520-12-360-4353. FFG has not only the necessary tools,
test equipment and know-how for the maintenance of the
transmissions at its disposal, but also possesses a high-performance
test-bench for the final documentation of the maintenance
quality for our customers.
Turret
As system maintenance company for all track vehicles, FFG
can also master the technology of the Leopard 2 turret and
its weapons system. Besides repairing mechanical components,
FFG’s scope of services includes repairing and testing the electrical
and hydraulic components. State of the art diagnostic

Extensive stores guarantee fast and effective support. The
quick, effective and at the same time economic supply of
spare parts at any place worldwide is a logistic tour de force.
We always have more than 40,000 spare parts in stock for the
NATO sector alone; from Leopard 2 engines that weigh tons
to relays as light as 10 grams.

Using state of the art processing and production manufacturing
technology FFG is able to manufacture spare parts which
are not available, from individual parts to complex component
assemblies. FFG is also authorized manufacturer of numerous
running gear components for the Leopard 2.
