(Under Section 27 (1) of the Chhattisgarh Act <strong>No</strong>. 26/2004)<br />
1. Course Title<br />
Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)<br />
2. Bachelor of Science course will be divided in three parts;<br />
B.Sc.Part – I<br />
B.Sc.Part – II<br />
B.Sc. Part – III<br />
The maximum period allowed to complete B.Sc. programme i.e. B.Sc. Part- I.<br />
B.Sc. Part-Ii and B.Sc. Part- III is 6 years.<br />
If a student does not complete B.Sc. programme during 6 years his/her<br />
Admission/Registration should be treated cancelled and he/she has to go for<br />
registration in B.Sc. Part-I.<br />
3. Eligibility for examination:-<br />
a. A candidate who has passed 10+2 examination of Chhattisgarh Board of<br />
Secondary Education, Chhattisgarh or,<br />
b. Any other equivalent examination of a Board or University recognized by Pt.<br />
Sundarlal Sharma (Open) University Chhattisgarh or<br />
c. A Candidate should be a resident of Chhattisgarh.<br />
4. Structure of the Course: - Structure of the Course will be divided in two parts ;<br />
Compulsory and selective/Optional groups.<br />
(A) Foundation Course (compulsory) ;<br />
(i) Hindi language<br />
(ii) English language<br />
(iii) Environmental Studies (Only in B.Sc. III year)<br />
(B) Selective/Optional Group : any one the following groups.<br />

Group “A”<br />
(i)<br />

Physics<br />
Chemistry<br />
Mathematics.<br />
Group “B”<br />

5. Medium of Instruction:<br />
The medium of instruction shall be in Hindi or English.<br />
6. Scheme of Examination:-<br />
(i) Examination of each paper will be divided in two parts; Assignment Work<br />
Examination (A.W.E.) and Term-End-Examination (T.E.E.)<br />
(ii) Each paper will be of 50 marks 15 marks in A.W.E. and 35 marks in T.E.E.<br />
(iii) Two practical exams will be there in group A but three in group B. With 50 marks<br />
in each practical.<br />
7. Scheme of Valuation :-<br />
(i) It will be compulsory to submit all answer books of assignment work, then only<br />
examinee will be allowed to fill up T.E.E. form.<br />
(ii) To pass an examination, it will be essential to secure minimum 33% marks,<br />
Separately in A.W.E. and T.E.E. also in practical, i.e. 5 out of 15, 12 out of 35<br />
and 17 out of 50, respectively.<br />
8. Contact classes (Practical) :<br />
A Candidate will be required to submit a certificate regarding he/she has got<br />
registered for practical works in a college/institute 75% and attended classes.<br />

9. Scheme of Valuation of Scripts :-<br />
There will be two types of answer books; Assignment Work Answer Books and<br />
Term-End-Examination Answer books;<br />
a. Assignment Work answer books will have 15 marks in each and it will be<br />
essential o obtain 5 marks in each answer book.<br />
b. Similarly Answer books of T.E.E. (Term End Examination) will have 35<br />
marks in each, 12 marks minimum, in each, will have to be secured.<br />
c. To pass in the examination, an examinee will have to obtain, separately, 5<br />
marks in A.W.E. and 12 marks, in T.E.E. in each paper i.e. 33% of the total<br />
marks.<br />
10. Provision of “Allowed to keep term” or ATKT :<br />
a. If result of a student in B.Sc. part I is ATKT. he/she may take admission in B.Sc<br />
Part II.<br />
b. He/She may be allowed to appear in Term-End-Examination of B.Sc Part-II,<br />
simultaneously he/she to appear in the examination of ATKT. subject /papers of<br />
B.Sc Part-I.<br />
c. A Student is allowed to take admission in B.Sc. Part- III even if he gets ATKT in<br />
B.Sc Part- II.<br />
d. A Student is allowed two attempts to pass the ATKT subjects/papers of B.Sc<br />
Part- I and Part-II.<br />
e. If a student does not pass the ATKT subjects/papers in two attempts his / her<br />
admission will be treated cancelled.<br />
f. A student is allowed to appear in the examination of ATKT subject/papers of<br />
B.Sc Part-III. He/she may be allowed two attempts to pass ATKT examination.<br />
g. Kulpati mercy attempt may be granted to the student, who has not completed<br />
maximum limit period of 6 years to complete B.Sc programme. He/she may<br />
appear in ATKT exam of either B.Sc II or B.Sc III.<br />
<strong>11</strong>. Determination of Division :-<br />
On the basis of marks obtained in Part I, II & III;<br />
First Division : On securing 60% or more marks of the grand total<br />
marks.<br />

Second Division : On securing less than 60% but not less than 45%<br />
marks of the total marks.<br />
Third Division : On securing less than 45% of the total marks but not<br />
less than 33% marks of the total marks.<br />
Any Candidate who fails to get minimum 33% marks will fail.<br />
12. There is no provision of Revaluation, Retotalling or Display of valued answer<br />
book.<br />
