9 MATERIAL SUPPLIED BY CONTRACTOR<br />

9.1 All materials required for the execution of the contract other than those<br />

specifically shown as be<strong>in</strong>g supplied by the Railways <strong>in</strong> this document shall be<br />

arranged and supplied by the contractor as detailed <strong>in</strong> the scope so as to realise<br />

the end objective.<br />

9.2 The list of the material (and their approximate quantity) to be supplied by the<br />

contractor have been <strong>in</strong>dicated <strong>in</strong> the Schedule of Items, rates and quantities –<br />

Section I Chapter 3. The list is however, not limited and any other material as<br />

required for complet<strong>in</strong>g the work as per standard plans, draw<strong>in</strong>g etc. will be<br />

supplied by the contractor free of cost. The supply of equipment and materials<br />

shall also <strong>in</strong>clude required <strong>in</strong>stallation and other materials and documents etc.,<br />

which may not be specifically mentioned there<strong>in</strong>, but which are usually necessary<br />

for complet<strong>in</strong>g the work <strong>in</strong> all respects. In addition to the above, if any other petty<br />

material which may be considered necessary for execution of the work accord<strong>in</strong>g<br />

to specification of draw<strong>in</strong>g is required, the same shall be supplied by the<br />

contractor free of cost.<br />

9.3.1 The materials supplied and used by the contractor shall be of best available<br />

quality and shall conform to relevant specifications, design and draw<strong>in</strong>gs duly<br />

<strong>in</strong>spected by RITES/RDSO/Railway consignee as the case may be.<br />

The materials to be supplied by the contractor as per schedule enclosed with the<br />

tender document will be procured from RDSO approved sources if the item<br />

appears <strong>in</strong> RDSO approved list as per guidel<strong>in</strong>e mentioned by RDSO <strong>in</strong> their<br />

booklet. In case of items not appear<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> RDSO approved list of material, the<br />

materials shall be supplied from reputed suppliers or their authorized<br />

representatives, shall be of best quality and shall be <strong>in</strong>spected by Railway<br />

consignee. The contractor may be required to produce test certificates from the<br />

manufacturers whenever called for by the Eng<strong>in</strong>eer <strong>in</strong> charge.<br />

9.4 Before procur<strong>in</strong>g the material to be supplied by contractor, the contractor shall<br />

submit the names and addresses of suppliers from whom it is proposed to procure<br />

the materials required to be supplied <strong>in</strong> the tender and shall take approval of<br />

railways for the same.<br />

9.6 CONSIGNEE<br />

The contractor should consign, if need be, all the materials/design required for the<br />

work to 'self' to the nearest stations where materials can be booked for stack<strong>in</strong>g<br />

before erection, or to the store godown/office of Sr. Section Eng<strong>in</strong>eer/<br />

IRPMU/Kanpur, from where the materials shall be handed over to the<br />

contractor for <strong>in</strong>stallation. All transportation charges to the site of work, taxes,<br />

octroi etc and all handl<strong>in</strong>g charges for each such item shall be borne by the<br />

contractor.<br />
