5. USE OF RAILWAY LAND<br />
Use of Railway land required by the Contractor for constructions of temporary<br />
offices, quarter(s), hutments etc. for the staff and for stor<strong>in</strong>g materials etc., will be<br />
permitted to him/them free by Railway, if available. The location of these offices,<br />
hutments, stores etc. will be subject to the approval of the Eng<strong>in</strong>eer or his<br />
representative. The land will be restored to Railways by the Contractor(s) <strong>in</strong> the<br />
same condition as when taken over or <strong>in</strong> vacant condition as desired by the<br />
Eng<strong>in</strong>eer, after completion of the work or at any earlier day, as specified by the<br />
Eng<strong>in</strong>eer. The failure to do so will make the Contractor(s) liable to pay the cost<br />
<strong>in</strong>curred by the Railway for gett<strong>in</strong>g possession of land.<br />
6. PROGRAMME OF WORK/OBLIGATION TO CARRY OUT<br />
ENGINEER’S INSTRUCTIONS<br />
6.1 The Contractor shall have necessary resources to execute the work so that the<br />
entire work is completed with<strong>in</strong> a period as mentioned <strong>in</strong> the preamble from<br />
the date of issue of Letter of Acceptance of the tender. He shall also have<br />
necessary resources to take up the work of <strong>in</strong>stallation commission<strong>in</strong>g etc.<br />
simultaneously at two <strong>in</strong>dependent places.<br />
6.2 With<strong>in</strong> a period of 7 days beg<strong>in</strong>n<strong>in</strong>g from the date of issue of Letter of<br />
Acceptance of Tender, the Contractor shall submit the detailed time schedule for<br />
the execution of work based on the conditions <strong>in</strong> consultation with the Railway to<br />
the authority mentioned <strong>in</strong> the Preamble and approved by the latter <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g<br />
before commencement of the work.<br />
6.3 The Contractor shall be held responsible for the execution of the work accord<strong>in</strong>g<br />
to the Programme given above for the execution of the work <strong>in</strong> full compliance of<br />
the approved cable route plans and also the various clauses of the technical<br />
supplement, Technical specifications, <strong>in</strong>structions and draw<strong>in</strong>gs available<br />
separately. Failure to comply with any of these will be dealt with as per provision<br />
laid down <strong>in</strong> General Conditions of Contract.<br />
6.4 The Contractor on his part will have to employ supervisors, technicians and<br />
labour <strong>in</strong> full strength commensurate with work<strong>in</strong>g area available. He will also<br />
arrange match<strong>in</strong>g materials and equipment to complete the job most expeditiously<br />
so as to ensure that the work is completed <strong>in</strong> phases with<strong>in</strong> the stipulated period.<br />
6.5 Inspection Register shall be ma<strong>in</strong>ta<strong>in</strong>ed at the site of work by the Railway<br />
where<strong>in</strong> <strong>in</strong>structions regard<strong>in</strong>g the work<strong>in</strong>g etc. shall be recorded by the Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<br />
or his executive subord<strong>in</strong>ates. It is expected of the Contractor or his representative<br />
at the site to note such <strong>in</strong>structions whenever asked upon to do so and take action<br />
accord<strong>in</strong>gly.<br />
