5. Once this system is <strong>in</strong>troduced by the two Station Masters of the dispatch<strong>in</strong>g and<br />

receiv<strong>in</strong>g stations at a nom<strong>in</strong>ated time after tak<strong>in</strong>g action, as far as possible,<br />

simultaneously and tra<strong>in</strong> work<strong>in</strong>g started as per new modified system, as described <strong>in</strong><br />

paras above, the system will cont<strong>in</strong>ue to operate automatically <strong>in</strong> the manner prescribed<br />

above and the process of tak<strong>in</strong>g ‘OFF’ Advanced Starter and mid-section semi-automatic<br />

signal need not be repeated by Station Masters of respective stations for every tra<strong>in</strong>.<br />

Facility shall however exist to work the Advanced Starter as manual signals as and when<br />

considered necessary by the controll<strong>in</strong>g Station Masters. Facility of convert<strong>in</strong>g semiautomatic<br />

Home Signal as manual or automatic signal shall cont<strong>in</strong>ue to rema<strong>in</strong> with the<br />

Station Master. However, Home Signal will work as manual mode only dur<strong>in</strong>g the time<br />

modified system is <strong>in</strong> force.<br />

6. Even with the change <strong>in</strong> the Signall<strong>in</strong>g arrangement, for the Loco Pilot, all exist<strong>in</strong>g<br />

Rules/Instructions for tra<strong>in</strong> pass<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Automatic Signall<strong>in</strong>g will be applicable. Thus, all<br />

automatic signals <strong>in</strong> the section shall work normally and Loco Pilot will follow exist<strong>in</strong>g<br />

GR/SR while pass<strong>in</strong>g/observ<strong>in</strong>g these signals.<br />

7. To restore the normal automatic Signall<strong>in</strong>g system at a pre-fixed nom<strong>in</strong>ated time, the<br />

Station Masters of the tra<strong>in</strong> dispatch<strong>in</strong>g and tra<strong>in</strong> receiv<strong>in</strong>g stations will talk to each other<br />

under exchange of private numbers and will re-<strong>in</strong>troduce the normal system by operat<strong>in</strong>g<br />

the switch on the panel or by click<strong>in</strong>g on the VDU with a mouse which will restore the<br />

‘A/AG’ marker on the mid-section semi-automatic signal <strong>in</strong> the block section. The<br />

condition of ‘A/AG’ marker of Home and Advanced Starter will cont<strong>in</strong>ue to be<br />

determ<strong>in</strong>ed by the Station Masters of the controll<strong>in</strong>g stations based on local conditions.<br />

8. System of work<strong>in</strong>g dur<strong>in</strong>g failure of signals when work<strong>in</strong>g tra<strong>in</strong>s <strong>in</strong> modified<br />

Automatic Signall<strong>in</strong>g system.<br />

(a) Failure of Advanced Starter: When ‘A’ marker is ext<strong>in</strong>guished, written authority<br />

to pass the signal and enter the next Signall<strong>in</strong>g section will be given when previous<br />

tra<strong>in</strong> has passed the next mid-section semi-automatic signal and adequate distance<br />

beyond. If the <strong>in</strong>dication of mid-section semi-automatic signal and clearance of<br />

section between Advanced Starter and mid-section semi-automatic signal cannot be<br />

ascerta<strong>in</strong>ed, the Station Master of the tra<strong>in</strong> dispatch<strong>in</strong>g station will talk to the Station<br />

Master of the receiv<strong>in</strong>g station and after confirm<strong>in</strong>g under exchange of private<br />

numbers that the previous tra<strong>in</strong> has cleared the mid-section semi-automatic signal<br />

and adequate distance beyond, he will authorize the Loco Pilot to pass the defective<br />

Advanced Starter signal <strong>in</strong> ‘ON’ position. If clearance of the section between<br />

Advanced Starter signal and the mid-section cannot be ascerta<strong>in</strong>ed by <strong>in</strong>dication on<br />

his panel, the station Master will authorize the tra<strong>in</strong> to pass defective Advanced<br />

Starter signal <strong>in</strong> ‘ON’ position only after confirm<strong>in</strong>g from the Station Master of the<br />

receiv<strong>in</strong>g station under exchange of private numbers that the previous tra<strong>in</strong> has<br />

arrived complete at the receiv<strong>in</strong>g station.<br />

(b) Failure of Home Signal: In this case, the Station Master of the receiv<strong>in</strong>g station will<br />

admit the tra<strong>in</strong> by tak<strong>in</strong>g ‘OFF’ call<strong>in</strong>g-on signal or by issu<strong>in</strong>g written authority<br />

when Call<strong>in</strong>g-on signal is also defective.<br />

(c) Failure of Modified Semi-Automatic Signal <strong>in</strong> mid-section:<br />
