8. Inspection Chamber :<br />
a. A 300*300*300mm (<strong>in</strong>side dimension) concrete box with smooth cement plaster<br />
f<strong>in</strong>ished shall be provided on the top of pit. A concrete lid, pa<strong>in</strong>ted black approx.<br />
50mm. Thick with pull<strong>in</strong>g hooks shall be provided to cover the earth pit.<br />
b. Care shall be taken regard<strong>in</strong>g level of the floor surround<strong>in</strong>g the earth so that the<br />
connector is not too deep <strong>in</strong> the masonry or project<strong>in</strong>g out of it. The masonry work<br />
shall be white washed <strong>in</strong>side and outside.<br />
c. On backside of the cover the date of test and average resistance value shall also be<br />
written with yellow pa<strong>in</strong>t on black background.<br />
9. Earth Bus bar and Connection to pit:<br />
a. The Earth electrode and the copper earth bus bar i.e. ma<strong>in</strong> equipment buss bar will<br />
connected by 35 sq.mm. multi strand s<strong>in</strong>gle core PVC <strong>in</strong>sulated copper cable,<br />
exothermically welded to electrode at one end and the earth bus bar at other end.<br />
b. The copper earth bus bar will be 300*25*6 mm size with t<strong>in</strong> coat<strong>in</strong>g and holes for<br />
fix<strong>in</strong>g it to the wall of equipment room with <strong>in</strong>sulation studs.<br />
c. All connection to the earth bus bar will be through t<strong>in</strong>ned copper lug of Dowell or<br />
similar make if suitable size.<br />
d. All nuts and bolts will be sta<strong>in</strong>less steel type.<br />
