<strong>The</strong>re is currently very little transshipment business at <strong>Pacific</strong> ports. This contrasts with<br />

Mauritius, Jamaica and other Caribbean countries, which have developed significant<br />

transshipment business.<br />

A.2.6 Benchmarking<br />

This section benchmarks the performance of <strong>Pacific</strong> Islands and comparator countries<br />

against a set of standard operating indicators.<br />

Size of Ports<br />

We have measured the size of <strong>Pacific</strong> ports by volume of cargo handled. Figure A.30<br />

compares the TEU throughput per annum at selected ports in the <strong>Pacific</strong> and comparator<br />

countries.<br />
