ARTS
The Real
da Vinci Code
Between 2009 and 2015, a vast collection of Leonardo da
Vinci’s writings and drawings will go on public display for the first
time. Due to preservation requirements, twenty-four separate
exhibitions will display 45 pages of his “Codice Atlantico” at a
time and rotate every three months. Until 12 December, the
Veneranda Biblioteca Ambrosiana, custodian of the genius
of Leonardo, who lived in Milan for many years, will host the
fifth of these exhibitions, featuring drawings dedicated to the
construction of war machines. The exhibition is divided up
between two venues: Ambrosiana, Piazza Pio IX, sala Federiciana
(Tues-Sun 9am-7pm); Sagrestia Monumentale del Bramante,
entrance from via Caradosso, 1 (Tues-Sun 8.30am-7pm). (p. 71)
visiting the venue in the first week of November will have a chance to
see L’infinito paesaggio, an exhibition of never-seen-before and recent
paintings by Tullio Pericoli, an artist from the Marche region and a wellknown
illustrator and portrait painter. Free admission to the show. Wed-
