Barry Ostrager, principal owner of Questroyal Stud, has been re-elected president of the
New York Thoroughbred Breeders, whose board of directors met Jan. 19.
Vice president Thomas Gallo III and secretary/treasurer Vivien Malloy will serve the
second year of their two-year terms.
I hope to work with the NYTB board and other industry stakeholders in 2012 and
beyond to maintain the New York breeding program on its current dramatic upward
trajectory, said Ostrager, also a member of the New York Racing Association board of
directors.
NYTB officials reported that five members that served two-year terms in 2010-11 were
re-elected directors for 2012-13. They are Dr. Jerry Bilinski, owner of Waldorf Farm and
Equine Medical Center; Chester Broman, owner of Chestertown Farm; Joanne Nielsen,
owner of Sunnyfield Farm; Suzie OCain, co-manager of Highcliff Farm; and Ostrager.
Michael Lischin, owner of Dutchess View Farm, was elected to a two-year term on the
11-member board.
Five NYTB board members are serving the second year of two-year terms in 2012: Lois
Engel, owner of Pucker Ridge Farm; Gallo, founder and managing owner of Parting
Glass Racing and Thomas J. Gallo III Sales Agency and owner of Blue Stone Farm;

Malloy, who owns Edition Farm; John McMahon, owner and manager of Old Saratoga
Thoroughbreds; and Dr. Chris Purdy, owner of Ivy League Farm.
