Barry <strong>Ostrager</strong><br />

Barry <strong>Ostrager</strong>, principal owner <strong>of</strong> Questroyal Stud, has been re-elected president <strong>of</strong> the<br />

<strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Thoroughbred Breeders, whose board <strong>of</strong> directors met Jan. 19.<br />

Vice president Thomas Gallo III and secretary/treasurer Vivien Malloy will serve the<br />

second year <strong>of</strong> their two-year terms.<br />

I hope to work with the <strong>NYTB</strong> board and other industry stakeholders in 2012 and<br />

beyond to maintain the <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> breeding program on its current dramatic upward<br />

trajectory, said <strong>Ostrager</strong>, also a member <strong>of</strong> the <strong>New</strong> <strong>York</strong> Racing Association board <strong>of</strong><br />

directors.<br />

<strong>NYTB</strong> <strong>of</strong>ficials reported that five members that served two-year terms in 2010-11 were<br />

re-elected directors for 2012-13. They are Dr. Jerry Bilinski, owner <strong>of</strong> Waldorf Farm and<br />

Equine Medical Center; Chester Broman, owner <strong>of</strong> Chestertown Farm; Joanne Nielsen,<br />

owner <strong>of</strong> Sunnyfield Farm; Suzie OCain, co-manager <strong>of</strong> Highcliff Farm; and <strong>Ostrager</strong>.<br />

Michael Lischin, owner <strong>of</strong> Dutchess View Farm, was elected to a two-year term on the<br />

11-member board.<br />

Five <strong>NYTB</strong> board members are serving the second year <strong>of</strong> two-year terms in 2012: Lois<br />

Engel, owner <strong>of</strong> Pucker Ridge Farm; Gallo, founder and managing owner <strong>of</strong> Parting<br />

Glass Racing and Thomas J. Gallo III Sales Agency and owner <strong>of</strong> Blue Stone Farm;


Malloy, who owns Edition Farm; John McMahon, owner and manager <strong>of</strong> Old Saratoga<br />

Thoroughbreds; and Dr. Chris Purdy, owner <strong>of</strong> Ivy League Farm.
