Twin Lakes Family <strong>YMCA</strong> Group Exercise Class Descriptions<br />

CARDIO CLASSES<br />

Cycle: Indoor cycling class using different levels of resistance to take participants through different terrains and intensities.(Space is limited.<br />

Please arrive 10 minutes early for bike set up. Water bottle and towel recommended.)<br />

Cycle X: Indoor cycling class using different levels of resistance to take participants through different terrains and intensities. Plus a mix of Core,<br />

Squats, Lunges, Plyometrics etc,,(Space is limited. Please arrive 10 minutes early for bike set up. Water bottle and towel recommended.)<br />

Teen Cycle: Indoor cycling class using different levels of resistance to take participants through different terrains and intensities. This class is<br />

modified for teens, recommended ages 9-14.<br />

RPM:<br />

Indoor cycling class based on outdoor riding. You ride to inspirational music over the equivalent of 20-25 kilometers of varied<br />

terrain, controlling the intensity of your workout with a resistance dial and pedal speed.<br />

Step: Complete cardio step aerobic class that incorporates varying levels of step combinations.<br />

R.I.P.P.E.D:<br />

Experience this total body "plateau proof fitness formula" workout, utilizing resistance and cardio training, which<br />

masterfully combines Resistance, Intervals, Power, Plyometrics, Endurance, and Diet components of R.I.P.P.E.D. to help you attain and maintain<br />

your physique in ways that are fun, safe, achievable and extremely effective.<br />

Body Combat:<br />

A one hour class that includes choreographed martial arts kicks, punches, and jabs. This class is designed to get<br />

your heart rate up and tone your body.<br />

Line Dancing: A low impact aerobic line dance class for all participants levels. This class builds physical stamina and mental alertness while<br />

dancing to country western music.<br />

ZUMBA: A fun & energizing workout combining easy to follow dance moves with Latin rhythm sure to keep you coming back for more.<br />

ZUMBA GOLD: Zumba Gold targets the largest growing segment of the population: baby boomers. It takes the Zumba formula and modifies<br />

the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant, as well as those just starting their journey to a fit and healthy lifestyle.<br />

Aqua Gold- FREE for Members & $8 for Non-Members – NO REGISTRATION REQUIRED (M/W Senior Circle members welcome)<br />

Get your body in motion with this active older adults low impact class to improve agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming<br />

ability is required; class will include work with noodles and water weights. Note: Water ranges from 4’ to 4.6” depending on location. Float belts<br />

can be used if desired. Class Location: Indoor & Outdoor See Schedule (class limited depending on location)<br />

Zumbatomic: Kids version of Zumba- Ages 4-12<br />

STRENGTH TRAINING / FLEXIBILITY CLASSES<br />

CXWORX:<br />

Core Cross training for 30 minutes. This class is designed to sculpt and strengthen your abdominal muscles as well as<br />

your 'sling muscles' front and back through isolation and integration exercises. This class is set to great music and lead by fantastic instructors,<br />

giving you the motivation to be successful at any level.<br />

Body Pump:<br />

an original barbell class that strengthens your entire body. This 60-minute workout challenges all your major muscle<br />

groups by using the best weight-room exercises like squats, presses, lifts and curls. Move to the beat of great music, awesome instructors and<br />

your choice of weight inspire you to get the results you came for – and fast!<br />

Core Conditioning: This class is a combination of Core, Strength, Flexibility and Balance movements that will improve your everyday life.<br />

Hard Core: Hard Core is core conditioning taken to the next level. Get ready to be taken out of your comfort zone & strengthen your core like<br />

never before.<br />

Pilates: A fluid combination of Pilates movements that is well designed to elongate your body and strength your core.<br />

Hatha Yoga: A class designed to align the body and mind, using correct posture and controlled breathing to increase muscle tone and flexibility.<br />

Yoga: Yoga is a practical aid, not a religion. Yoga is an ancient art based on a harmonizing system of development for the body, mind, and<br />

spirit.<br />

Yoga Flow:, A mild fitness-based approach to Yoga. This class is basic Yoga taken to the next level although modifications can be made for all<br />

fitness levels.<br />

Power Yoga: A vigorous, fitness-based approach to Yoga. This class is a more advance form of Yoga although modifications can be made for<br />

all fitness levels.<br />

Tai Chi: Originated in China as a martial art, is a mind-body practice also known as “moving meditation” practitioners move their bodies slowly,<br />

gently, and with awareness, while breathing deeply.
