Cosmopor ® E sterile adhesive, island wound dressing<br />

For sterile dressing of post operative wounds<br />

and/or minor injuries<br />

Cosmopor ® E is a sterile, self-adhesive wound<br />

dressing made of soft non woven polyester,<br />

with an absorbent viscose pad covered with<br />

a non adherent porous wound contact layer.<br />

This is coated with skin friendly synthetic<br />

adhesive.<br />

Cosmopor ® E carries the CE mark according<br />

to EU directive 93/42/EEC for medical devices.<br />

The product is classified as a class I sterile<br />

medical device. A conformity assessment<br />

has been performed for Cosmopor ® E and<br />

it has been shown to be in compliance with<br />

all applicable requirements of the above<br />

mentioned directive.<br />

According to the NICE surgical site infection<br />

guidelines Cosmopor ® E is recomended for<br />

use 48 hours after surgery. A high MVTR film<br />

dressing such as Hydrofilm ® should be used<br />

for the first 48 hours after surgery. 2<br />

Indication<br />

Cosmopor ® E is indicated for post operative<br />

wound management and sterile dressing of<br />

minor injuries e.g. in first aid.<br />
