TruVision NVR 20 Firmware 2.0 Release Notes 1

Firmware Notes
TruVision NVR 20 Firmware 2.0 Release Notes new features include:
• The resource calculation method has changed from the previous TVN 20
firmware. Instead of calculating available resources by resolution, it is now
calculated by bit rate as per the table below.
Bit Rate (stream)
Channel Cost on TVN20
Less than or equal 2 Mbps 1
2 Mbps to 4 Mbps 2
4 Mbps to 8 Mbps 4
Therefore, you can have 16 streams to a 16 channel TVN 20 at less than or
equal to 2 Mbps, or
8 streams to a 16 channel TVN20 from 2 Mbps to 4 Mbps, or
4 streams to a 16 channel TVN20 from 4 Mbps to 8 Mbps
• Support for new truVision and UltraView IP cameras
o UVP-M1120P/S/F -18x
o UVP-N120P/S/F -36x
o TVC-1245E-2M
o TVC-N225E-2M
o TVD-1245E-2M
o TVD-N225E-2M
• Support for new truVision encoders
o TVE-400
o TVE-800
o TVE-1600
• Added a refresh button in the configuration page to refresh IP camera list
• Support for the latest ACTi, Arecont, AXIS, and TruVision firmware
• For details on camera compatibility, please refer to the TruVision TVN 20 FW
2 TruVision NVR 20 Firmware 2.0 Release Notes

TruVision NVR 20 Firmware 2.0 Release Notes known limitations are:
• In order not to avoid overloading the TruVision Encoder, TVN 20 limits the
main stream of TVE up to 1.5Mbps (real-time @ 4CIF) and defaults its
substream to 128kbps @ CIF, 6fps. Only a constant bit rate is configurable for
both main stream and substream.
• TruVision Encoder (multi-channel) will not be listed again at Quick Add page
when at least one of its analog channels have been added. The reason is that
TVR 20 detects devices by recognizing new IP address only. Other channels
of the TVE can be added manually by specifying the IP Address and channel
number on the IP Camera Config page.
• The substream frame rate of a TVE channel is up to 6fps when the resolution
is set as CIF. This is a performance limitation of TVE, which has been
documented.
• HD IP PTZ cameras listed below shall reboot when the resolution is changed
by the NVR, which takes about 20 s. This is a known limitation of the PTZ
itself.
o UVP-M1120P-18X-N, UVP-M1120P-18X-P
o UVP-M1120S-18X-N, UVP-M1120S-18X-P
o UVP-M1120F-18X-N, UVP-M1120F-18X-P
• Each of the 36X SD IP PTZ cameras listed below has seven Alarm In ports,
only the first six of which can be supported by the TVN20. This is a limitation.
o UVP-N120P-36X-N, UVP-N120P-36X-P
o UVP-N120S-36X-N, UVP-N120S-36X-P
o UVP-N120F-36X-N, UVP-N120F-36X-P
