22.1 Log settings
Figure 22.1
Log settings
Note: If the log is not saved in a file on the disk, only records generated since the last login to
Kerio Control Engine will be shown in the Administration Console. After logout (or closing of
Administration Console), the records will be lost.
File Logging
Use the File Loggingtab to define file name and rotation parameters.
Enable logging to file
This option enables/disables saving of the log into the file with the name defined in the
File name entry. The latest log is saved in the file of this name with the .log extension.
If log rotation is enabled, older logs are saved in files of the particular names including
date and time of rotation.
All log files are stored in the logs subfolder of the Kerio Control head directory, i.e.:
• in Windows edition typically:
C:\Program Files\Kerio\WinRoute\Firewall\logs
• in Software Appliance / VMware Virtual Appliance edition always:
/opt/kerio/winroute/logs
Rotate regularly
Set intervals in which the log will be rotated regularly. The file will be stored and a new
log file will be started in selected intervals.
Weekly rotation takes effect on Sunday nights. Monthly rotation is performed at the end
of the month (in the night when one month ends and another starts).
