<strong>Norlite</strong> flashlights are manufactured from high quality,<br />
aircraft grade anodized aluminum which helps to prevent<br />
abrasion and corrosion. It also changes the texture<br />
of the metal allowing it to be dyed without the result of<br />
cracking or peeling paint.<br />
<strong>Norlite</strong> flashlights use LED lights instead of regular light<br />
bulbs. LED stands for “light emitting diode”. When focused<br />
in a certain direction the effect is an electroluminescent<br />
light. LED lights can be any color, depending on<br />
the material surrounding it, and can be visible, infrared,<br />
or near ultraviolet.<br />
One advantage of LED lights is that they are much more<br />
energy-efficient than regular light bulbs. They are also<br />
very durable as they are built inside very strong, solid<br />
cases instead of being out in the open where they can<br />
be broken. Also, the life span of an LED is about 2 times<br />
as long as one of the best fluorescent bulbs. They last<br />
approximately10 years with average use. Unlike incandescent<br />
light bulbs, LED lights don’t give off much heat,<br />
and they light up very quickly.<br />
LED’s are measured in lumens. Lumens are units for<br />
measurement of light output. It is basically measuring<br />
how much light you can actually see, or visible light.<br />

Unit measuring the amount of light you can see, or units<br />
