the place to get information & support who we are Community Services Association (CSA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to supporting the international community of greater Cairo. Founded in 1980, CSA has played an integral part in the lives of expatriates by providing support and stability in what can be a challenging but exciting life in Egypt. CSA offers a vast range of services and programs to keep you stimulated throughout your stay. We have the resources and tools for you to learn new skills, discover the local culture and language, keep your mind and body active, and to connect with other like-minded expatriates in a relaxed and friendly environment. If you’re new to Egypt, CSA is your one-stop shop for practical information and newcomer support. our vision CSA strives to be “a vital community center that provides the support, social connections and sense of belonging for all expatriates living and working in Egypt.” our mission CSA understands the importance of positive adjustment and ongoing in-country support when moving to a new place. To assist you with the practical concerns of relocation, CSA offers: • An information and referral team dedicated to answering questions on any matter concerning life in Egypt. An invaluable source of information, the team can help with enquiries about services, schools, health care providers, and community happenings. Our Information & Referral Desk is also available by phone and email • CSA Welcome Pack: A must for all newcomers, you will find all you need to know to help you settle into your new life in Egypt. Pick up a copy at the CSA Center • Fundamentals of Living in Egypt: In the peak arrival months of January and September, CSA offers a one-day seminar covering topics of Cross Cultural Adaptation, Customs and Culture, Egypt Past & Present, and includes a unique tour of Cairo • CSA Coffee Morning: Throughout the year, CSA invites you to a coffee morning to hear firsthand experiences from Egypt’s ‘veteran’ expatriates, to find out what life in Egypt is all about and to meet other newcomers • Neighborhoods of Cairo: Join our whistle-stop tour of Greater Cairo designed especially to help you familiarize yourself with your new surroundings. The half-day tour is the perfect introduction to the area We also publish a monthly magazine, Oasis, which is packed with articles written by the community. the place to stay healthy healthy living the place to stay active The CSA Fitness Training Center offers an array of activities for the whole family; it’s a place to get motivated and stay motivated. Our gym is equipped with exceptional equipment that allows you to achieve your personal fitness goals in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. New members receive a free fitness assessment and gym orientation. If going alone is not your style, our Group Fitness schedule has a variety of classes ranging from fat burning, to body sculpting and Step, all designed for you to get your workout done early morning, leaving you free for the rest of the day. We also offer EasyLine Circuit Training that combines a cardio and strength training workout in only 40 minutes. This program is perfect for those searching for non-intimidating and easy to use training equipment. Starting a new life abroad invariably means a huge adjustment to your daily routine, your social network, and your whole way of life. Maintaining optimal wellness for your body, mind and spirit subsequently becomes a challenge. At CSA we offer a range of programs to help maintain wellbeing during your stay in Egypt and also encourage personal development in a supportive environment. Our Health and Wellness initiative addresses various issues including emotional health, family welfare, healthy lifestyle and professional enhancement. Whether it’s managing your health or creating a positive environment for yourself, we have activities that generate awareness and help you make the right choices toward a more successful existence. Look out for seminars, retreats, health fairs and classes thought out the year. The Serenity Center at CSA offers mind-body classes such as Pilates, Yoga and Spinning®, which can help you focus and relieve stress. Other services include Physiotherapy and a Weight Management Center. CSA can also help you find health resources in Egypt and provide you with health information in the forms of fact sheets on pertinent health topics available at the Information & Referral Desk. Our adult and children courses are designed to fit into any busy lifestyle. If you want an alternative way to get in shape, Belly Dancing, Ballroom, Flamenco and Latin Dance are an ever-popular part of our dance courses that run throughout the year. In addition, Tae Kwon Do, Irish Dance and Ballet are all established classes on our Children’s Program.
