At <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> <strong>of</strong> Saskatoon and Area we believe that change starts with<br />
one person, one business, one community. It starts when people come<br />
together in support <strong>of</strong> a common goal. It starts with leadership.<br />
<strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> Leaders are a committed group <strong>of</strong> individuals with a common goal.<br />
They aspire to the vision <strong>of</strong> a vibrant and caring community, creating better lives for<br />
all people who live in Saskatoon and area. They do so by contributing gifts <strong>of</strong> $1000<br />

Leaders make personal donations or utilize<br />
the payroll deduction system through<br />
their employers, but there are other<br />
ways to become a community Leader.<br />
Donations <strong>of</strong> Listed Securities<br />
Take advantage <strong>of</strong> greater tax saving<br />
opportunities while creating positive<br />
change in our community.<br />
By donating publicly traded shares to <strong>United</strong><br />
<strong>Way</strong>, you will not pay any capital gains tax<br />
normally associated with such a disposition.<br />
You will receive a tax receipt for the full value<br />
<strong>of</strong> the shares but are not taxed on any gains.<br />
Donors <strong>of</strong> securities, therefore, do not need<br />
to take any capital gains into account.<br />
The Tomorrow Fund<br />
By making a gift to The Tomorrow Fund,<br />
a donor can ensure a gift will continue<br />
in perpetuity. The gift is invested wisely,<br />
pr<strong>of</strong>essionally managed, and indexed<br />
into inflation to ensure the real value <strong>of</strong><br />
the capital is maintained. The annual<br />
income generated in excess <strong>of</strong> the<br />
amount capitalized for inflation is used<br />
by <strong>United</strong> <strong>Way</strong> to support innovative<br />
and effective community programs.<br />
