THE ADDRESS MANAGER SOFTWARE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS
1. There are two main functions of the Address Manager Software, as follows:
1.1 Postcode Enquiry
1.2 Postcode clean up routine -- to help to clean up the customer’s mailing address database
Postcode.
2. Minimum System Requirements
2.1 Pentium 266MHz or higher
2.2 32 MB system RAM or more
2.3 Minimum 300 MBytes free hard disk space on the drive that you plan to install the Address
Manager Application. You may need more disk space depending on the size of the user
organisation’s mailing address database.
2.4 Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/2000/NT4
2.5 If you are using Windows 2000/NT4/Windows XP or above, you must install and run the program
in the Administrator user.
2.6 One 3.5” 1.44 MBytes floppy drive
2.7 One CD-ROM drive at least 12x speed and able to support CD-R media
3. Requirements for the Clean up routine
3.1 The Clean up routine is one of the functions described in clause 1. In order for the user to use this
routine to help them to clear up their mailing address database postcode, the following
requirements are needed:
3.2 The user must be able to write their own program to download all the mailing address records
from their organisation’s mailing address database with a specific file structure (see table below)
in a flat file format. This file is required as an input file for the routine.
3.3 The user must be able to write their own program to update the new converted postcode from the
conversion result output file back to their organisation’s mailing address database.
3.4 The user mailing address database must be structured and should at least be able to identify the
following fields:
3.5 Old Postcode (mandatory for PO Box/Locked Bag/Window delivery addresses if Post Office
name is not provided)
3.6 Address type (Mandatory for PO Box--P/Locked Bag--B/Window delivery--W addresses)
3.7 Building Number (Official building/house number from IRAS)
3.8 Street Name (conform to IRAS street naming standard)

3.9 Building Name (mandatory for PO Box/Locked Bag/Window delivery addresses if the Old
postcode is not provided. For non-PO Box addresses, if the building/house number is provided,
you can leave this field blank)
3.10 PO Box/Locked Bag/Window Delivery Number (mandatory for PO Box/Locked Bag/Window
delivery addresses)
3.11 The user organisation’s mailing address database must have a unique record ID field (can not be
repeated or empty) for each record, maximum filed length is up to 25 characters.
4. The customer must be the existing subscriber or will be subscribing to the SingPost 6D Postcode
database.
INFILE.TXT file structure
This file contains all the mailing records down-loaded from your organisation's database.
This file is used as input for the Clean Up routine.
