Methven was established in 1886 by George Methven and is New Zealand’s 

oldest, largest designer and manufacturer of showers, tapware and 

water valves. 

Originally from Dundee, Scotland, George Methven was a pioneer of his time. 

After arriving in New Zealand and settling in Dunedin, George started his own 

iron and brass foundry, in a modest single-storeyed brick building situated 

behind the family home; so began the Methven legacy. 

Today we strive for nothing less than the best in design and technology. We are 

proud to have introduced a number of world firsts that are part of our shower 

and tapware ranges you see today. We have won a number of international 

design awards, but at the end of the day, what really matters is our relationship 

with you.

Conventional showers use single jets of water that can produce a narrow, needle-like 

spray. Satinjet ® uses twin jets of water that collide and turn into thousands of tiny

Satinjet® showers meet the strictest water conservation requirements worldwide 

without compromising your shower experience. Switching to a 9 litre per minute Satinjet®

Great design is something that enhances day-to-day life; seamlessly integrating itself 

in to our daily lives to the extent that it almost goes unnoticed. This is why we are so 

excited to introduce our revolutionary Evenflo technology, because it does just that. 

Quality tapware is an investment. Yet until now, no matter how wisely you chose, your 

shower experience has been at the mercy of others. If someone in your home, or an 

appliance for that matter, used any hot or cold water outlet while you were using your 

shower, you could experience “Thermal Shock” with a major change in temperature and 

pressure. Not a great situation, but a reality endured by most Australian homes. Not so, 

if you have Evenflo technology. 

Evenflo ensures consistent water flow delivery, preventing fluctuations in temperature 

and pressure at the outlet in which it is installed. What that means for you, is at any
