The MicroStac connector series is a hermaphroditic design. The<br />

connector and the counter connector are identical, and the typical<br />

subdivisions of male- and female-multipoint connectors are omitted.<br />

The relatively high contact force and a transfer mating reliability<br />

of 1.5 mm ensure a high level of reliability. Plug-in modules are<br />

therefore designed for applications where the number of times the<br />

modules have to be plugged in is minimal. The design calls for fast,<br />

fully automatic SMT assembly.<br />

The MicroSpeed SMT miniaturized, modular connector system,<br />

with transfer rates of up to 10 Gbits/sec, was designed especially<br />

for telecommunications and data transmission devices. Board-toboard<br />

spacing of between 5 mm and 20 mm can be achieved<br />

using different heights. For differential data transmission several<br />

different signal-pair arrangements are possible. We achieve exceptional<br />

signal integrity using a design which features two signal<br />

and two shield contact rows.<br />

The SMC line of versatile connectors offering includes different<br />

hights, vertical and right angle males and females, as well as a<br />

low profile design. The SMC connector offers high contact density<br />

for a small space requirement. A fully metal SMT bracket also<br />

absorbs high withdrawing and mating forces. The combination of<br />

standard and low profile male and female connectors supports<br />

various board-to-board stacking heights (8.0 - 14.0 mm).<br />

The small design of the single-row cable connector system in a<br />

1.27 mm pitch is ideal for space-saving connections between the<br />

printed circuit boards and decentral function units. Pre-manufactured<br />

female multipoint connectors and cables together with the<br />

straight and angled male multipoint connectors available offer a<br />

number of mating possibilities for SMT connection technology.<br />

The 2.54 mm single row cable connector system is ideally suitable<br />

for high reliable and space saving connections between PCBs and<br />

decentral units, e.g. lamps or info-panels, front plate elements like<br />

buttons, switches, fuses or LEDs, motors, fans etc. The system is<br />

very versatile thanks to the availability of straight and angled male<br />

multipoint connectors in SMT technology. The pre-manufactured<br />

cable connector is mechanically coded with the male multipoint<br />

connector and protected against accidental release, as a result of<br />

vibration for example. It can be unlocked without using any additional<br />

tools.<br />

The high-density Hard Metric ERmet system in 2.0 mm pitch conforms<br />

to IEC 61076-4-101. This line of connectors offers incomparable<br />

performance and flexibility for today’s system designs. A<br />

range of designs allows a number of possible arrangements of<br />

printed circuit boards and plug-in modules. The ERmet product<br />

line is increasingly being used in industrial computers (IPCs), where<br />

PICMG specifications apply.<br />

ERmet ZD connectors were developed for differential high-speed<br />

signal transmission in telecom applications with data rates of up to<br />

10 Gbits/sec. The inline design of the signal and ground contacts<br />

makes simple, economic routing (conductor track routing) possible.<br />

The ERmet ZD connector utilizes an optimal grid construction<br />

that reduces signal interference and offers ample room for conductor<br />

track routing. Its optimized design and effective shielding<br />

allow the ERmet ZD system to exhibit superb performance when<br />

it comes to crosstalk and reflections.<br />

This high speed backplane connector system was developed<br />

to meet the electrical requirements in designs with differential,<br />

low-voltage signals and high data rates. ERmet zeroXT has<br />

a very low Crosstalk level, minimal skew, good routing properties<br />

(simple conductor track routing), a reliable dual beam female<br />

contact design, different contact levels, and a robust housing.<br />

The company’s pioneering role in the development of the standard<br />

and the many years of experience it has in this area of connectors<br />

make <strong>ERNI</strong> the ideal partner for the connector line compliant with<br />

DIN 41612/IEC 60603-2. The <strong>ERNI</strong> X-<strong>PRESS</strong> range comprises<br />

connectors for a number of signaling and high-current solutions.<br />

Our headers are single-, double- and triple row plastic strips assembled<br />

with square 0.64mm x 0.64mm pins. There are 5 different<br />

cover options for mating side and terminal side. Available are<br />

tin as well as different gold plating variants. Several header variants<br />

are possible in SMT and THR connection technology.<br />

<strong>ERNI</strong> Header LPV connectors, in compliance with IEC 60603-13<br />

(DIN 41651), are well known to our customers worldwide. These<br />

are two-row pin connectors in a 2.54 mm pitch. The female connector<br />

is designed to be used to connect a ribbon cable using<br />

IDC technology. Integrated coding at the center of the insulating<br />

housing eliminates contact damage caused by improper mating.<br />

Optional locking latches secure the connection against inadvertent<br />

release due to vibration or shock.<br />

Two-row power supply terminals featuring an elastic pressfit zone<br />

or dip solder connection were developed by <strong>ERNI</strong> for connecting<br />

power supply lines. The power supply conductor is connected to a<br />

cable lug by means of a screw. If configured as effectively as possible,<br />

an operating current of up to 40 A is possible.<br />

D-Sub series, are primarily used as interface connectors. The new<br />

generation of D-Sub connectors is available as different connection<br />

types, both as straight or as angled male and female multipoint connectors.<br />

This new generation is fully RoHS-compliant.<br />

Modular Jacks have been used in the telecommunications and<br />

ethernet industry for many years. Whether integrated in a simple<br />

telephone system, or in a gigabit application, “Mod Jacks” represent<br />

the standard for network connections. Modular Jacks can<br />

be obtained in many different versions. Increasing data rates and<br />

space-saving requirements are driving increasing requests for these<br />

ERbic fieldbus connectors combine compact dimensions with horizontal<br />

or vertical cable termination. In addition to node and termination<br />

versions with integrated termination resistors, the integrated switch<br />

in ERbic switch versions allows flexible configuration of Profibus systems.<br />

The robust MAX housing allows use in harsh ambient conditions<br />

with increased EMC requirements and offers an axial cable outlet.<br />

Plug-in solutions can be implemented easily and quickly with the<br />

modular international circular connector system according to IEC<br />

61076-2. M12 connectors are currently recommended as field bus<br />

connectors for almost all field bus specifications and are available in<br />

multiple codings. The introduction of the new M8/M12 connectors<br />

illustrates <strong>ERNI</strong>'s commitment to develop a reliable and flexible I/O<br />

devices in particular, USB und Firewire solutions have replaced<br />

Our new terminals with a spacing of 5.08 mm offer connection options<br />

for conductors with cross-sections up to 4 mm². With the terminal<br />

blocks with varying numbers of pins, even terminal strips with<br />

higher numbers of pins can be assembled. The typical applications<br />

Our DIL IC Sockets stand for a better access to the board and optimal<br />

cooling. They are stackable in length and sidewards. A high<br />

retention force is also given at strong vibrations. Because of the<br />

pin design a penetration of fluxes into the mating zone is absolutely<br />

prevented.<br />

Our connector housings with separate available crimp contacts<br />

build an easy and efficient connector system. Multipolar connections,<br />

single-row and two-row, are available in 2.0 mm and 4.2<br />

Coaxial and high-current contacts (75 Ohm/up to 40 A) as an addition<br />

to the corresponding connectors in the DIN 41612 and ERmet<br />

series.<br />

<strong>ERNI</strong> offers a range of cable connector housings (KSG) for<br />

the D-Sub connector systems. The KSG 200 is a two-shelled<br />

housing with screw-type interlock and internal shield plates for<br />

high EMI and ESD protection. Together with the <strong>ERNI</strong> D-Sub<br />

connectors that have a lamella spring for contacting, optimal<br />

shielding against radiated noise can be achieved. The additional<br />

components in the DIN 41612/IEC 60603-2 connector family<br />

are available in different versions for designs C, H and R. The<br />

KSG173 housings offer 3 optional cable outlets with strain relief<br />

for strands, round cables or ribbon cables. The guide elements<br />

are available with coding and screw-type interlock for 19'' applications.<br />
