PAID ADVERTISMENT
GLORIA FRASER
FROM DECEMBER 21 ST 2002 TO MAY 25TH, 2003,
A VERY BELATED “THANK YOU” AND APOLOGY!
It has taken me this long in collecting my thoughts and to return
from “Never Never Land.”
I wish to express my very belated “Thank You’ s” and Apologies to
all the hard-working people who helped me put together the Christmas
Fund Raiser for Desert Gardens - the show” Return to Vaudeville”
A big thanks to my many friends and associates for their support and
attendance. To “Mayor Mel” and other Council Members. To Tab Shori
and the great music the group provided. To Doreen Houghton for her
excellent piano accompaniment. To Gordon Cullin, violinist, and to the
Kamloops Players’ talented entertainers. Thanking also all cast members,
both in front and backstage, together with “Bikini Bills’ who kindly
loaned us the fabulous backdrop. I also offer special thanks to my
friends and co-producers, Doreen Esselmont, and Ethel Ostrick of “The
Happy Tappers”. Also to Maggie Merluk and Fran Fennell. I also appreciate
and thank Kelly and her staff, who produced an excellent dinner
(I’m told, and I regret missing). And, finally, last but certainly not least
of course, thanks to those friends who travelled some distance in winter
to attend the show. And to many, many others: Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you!
Unquestionably, the financial success of this event was a direct tribute
to my experiences as a child. Memories engraved upon my mind by
long-gone mentors among family and friends; folks who excelled in
their performance of the Vaudevillian arts. I had intended referring to
this at the end of the show because audience support played a crucial
part in the success of Return to Vaudeville. Again, Thank you! Thank you!
Thank you!
Sadly for me, after having worked so hard to produce the show, I fell
ill just days before the opening and was unable myself to see or perform
in this well attended tribute to Vaudeville. However, the team acted in
the true Vaudevillian tradition - “The Show Must Go On.” AND THE
SHOW WENT ON! I was very, very sorry to miss it, but with deep,
deep gratitude, I thank you all.
Sincerely, Gloria Fraser, Producer / Director of “Return to
Vaudeville”
Watch for the next!
