The net operating surplus from operations is $14.7 million is above year to date budget of
$13.7 million giving a favourable variance of $1 million.

Non Operating Revenue
Non Operating Revenue year to date is $652k slightly below year to date budget of $728k.
This includes a $0.5 million capital contribution received from the State Government for the
Matthews Netball Centre.
Capital Works Programs
The total amount of funds spent on the Town’s capital works program for the period ended
31 October 2012 is $1.6 million against year to date budget of $2 million, a variance of
$400k.
A brief overview of the capital works programs at year end shows the following timing
variances:
• Buildings - $502k against year to date budget of $604k, with a favourable variance of
$102k.
• Parks and Reserves expenditure is $175k against year to date budget of $191k, a
favourable variance of $16k.
• Roads and Lanes - $258k against year to date budget of $317k a favourable variance
of $59k.
There are no major permanent variances within the capital works program to report on.
