COUNCIL MINUTES TUESDAY 27 NOVEMBER 2012 COMMITTEE AND ADMINISTRATION RECOMMENDATION: Moved by Cr Langer, seconded by Cr Bradley That:- (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) this report into the commercial facilities for the surf club building as part of the Surf Club Building and Commercial Development at City Beach Concept be noted; negotiations commence with operators that submitted an Expression of Interest to finalise offers for commercial facilities consistent with the hospitality mix detailed in this report; approval be given to increase the commercial space to a notional 1,600 m 2 of enclosed space; and a Business Plan be prepared and advertised for the commercial leases. Amendment Moved by Cr Langer, seconded by Cr Walker That clause (iii) of the motion be amended as follows:- (iii) the enclosed commercial space be no more than 1400 m 2 . During discussion, divergent views were expressed with regard to the size and number of the facilities. The amendment was then put and carried 5/4 For: Against: Mayor Withers (Casting Vote), Crs King, Langer and Walker Crs Bradley, Carr, MacRae and Pelczar Amendment Moved by Cr Carr, seconded by Cr Pelczar That a further clause be added to the motion as follows:- (v) a report be prepared for the December Council meeting recommending Council's conditions on the commercial liquor licences.
