LIVESTOCK HAULING AND 

EMBRYO/SEMEN SHIPPING: 

• Livestock haulers will be available for delivery to 

central points or directly to their final destinations. 

Questions concerning livestock transportation 

may be directed to the auction manager or 

Diamond Z Transport at 417/991-9116. 

• Most embryos and semen will be available for 

transfer and removal auction night. Those items 

not on-site will be transferred into the purchaser(s)’ 

accounts at various locations. Buyers are requested 

to make plans to remove purchases as 

quickly as possible. All storage tanks will be sold in 

the auction; therefore, there will no longer be adequate 

storage available on the farm. Embryos and 

semen not picked up within 7 days of the auction 

will be shipped to Cattle Visions, 1-866-356-4565. 

All shipping and storage risks and expenses are assumed 

by the purchaser(s). 

HERD HEALTH: All animals will be available for 

domestic interstate shipment with proper TB and 

Brucellosis testing complete. Health certificates 

will accompany all live cattle purchases. Buyers 

should be aware of any further testing required by 

their states before purchasing. Extra time may be 

required for additional testing.

Welcome back to Lazy H Farm, 

When my family and I got into this business 13 years ago, I never could have imagined how many 

great friends we would meet. Today, we have “cattle friends” in all parts of this country and in neighboring 

Canada; all thanks to these cattle and our activities in the business. It’s been great and exactly 

what I hoped for when Karen and I decided we wanted to raise our kids on the farm and around cattle. 

So, before we do anything, we want to thank the American Jr. Simmental Association (AJSA) for 

helping us teach our boys how to become fine, young men. We are selling our entire herd in this auction 

but the boys will continue to participate in regional and national AJSA events. It’s a great program 

that we are proud to support; keep it going. 

After a lot of thinking this spring we decided to have this dispersal auction. As you might expect, it 

was a very hard decision to make and I have regretted it more than once and taken plenty of grief 

from my family and friends because of it. But, with my other business slowing down, I decided to 

spend more time with it to get it back to where it needs to be and the time constraints of working with 

the cattle operation just proved too substantial. I love spending my days on the farm but it should be 

more relaxing than it has been lately. Selling the cows will help, but we will surely miss them. 

This dispersal auction will feature our entire cattle operation. We are selling every cow, calf, bull, embryo, 

pregnancy, ownership share and everything else that is part of our outfit including the entire 

semen inventory and nearly all of our equipment. It will be quite an event and I am sure there will be 

some great opportunities for those looking to enhance the quality of their breeding programs. We are 

fortunate to run some of the most successful Simmental genetics in the breed today – many of which 

are just hitting their peak of productivity – and all of them will sell October 19 on the farm. The cattle 

look great and I look forward to hearing from you after you get them home and put them to work for 

you. I know we will have some very happy customers! 

If you have been to Lazy H then you know how many hands it takes to make this operation run. There 

are so many helpful family and friends, but I would especially like to thank all the employees that 

have worked for me over the years. John L, Josh V, Doug S, Josh C, John M, Tom M, Judy C, Daryl B, 

Josh H, Tommy W, and Adam H. I hope I didn’t forget anyone because I couldn’t have done it without 

you. Best wishes and best of luck to Tommy and Adam in their new endeavors. Adam Hall has 

worked for us for nearly 10 years. He basically grew up with my kids while he worked on the farm and 

he is like a son to me; he will be missed dearly by all of us. 

Now, I would like to thank the most important part of my life; my family, Karen, Austin, Zach, and Andrew. 

Our cattle adventure has been a great experience for all of us; the ups, the downs and everything 

in between. We haven’t stopped in 13 years, whether it’s been playing sports or showing cattle, 

and we have met a lot of great people, seen a lot of great cattle, and been all over the country together. 

It has been a great way to spend our time and we come away with memories that will last forever. 

Having this auction, selling these cows, and saying a few goodbyes; this is a very hard thing to do but 

we will get thru it and still be a part of this great business. We will buy a few cows and still show a little 

but I promise it will only be a hobby this time. This is not the end, it’s a new beginning. 

It has been a good ride. We have been fortunate to have the success and the great fun that we’ve had.

may not be removed until it is no longer needed. Other items will likely be included by 

auction time.
