• All construction equipment shall be
maintained and properly tuned, in accordance
with manufacturer's specifications. All
equipment shall be checked by a certified
mechanic and determined to be running in
proper condition prior to operation. EBMUD
will request and maintain logs that certify the
proper operating condition of construction
vehicles.

BIOLOGICAL RESOURCES
Mitigation Measure BIO-1: If site clearing,
demolition, and construction do not commence
between September 1 and January 31, then
preconstruction surveys, for nesting birds should
be conducted by a qualified biologist to ensure
that no nest will be disturbed during project
implementation. This survey shall be conducted
no more than 14 days prior to the initiation of
demolition/construction activities during the early
part of the breeding season (February through
April) and no more than 30 days prior to the
initiation of these activities during the late part of
the breeding season (May through August).
During this survey, the biologist will inspect all
trees and other habitats in and immediately
adjacent to the impact areas for nests.
