Article No. 11 of the of Declaration of human and civic rights (France, 1789):<br />

“The free communication of ideas and opinions is one of the most precious rights of<br />

the man: any citizen may therefore speak, write and publish freely”.<br />

Article No. 19 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UNO, 1948):<br />

“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes<br />

freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart<br />

information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers”.<br />

Article No. 2 of the Italian Constitution:<br />

“Everyone has the right to freely express thoughts in speech, writing and by other<br />

communication. The press may not be controlled by authorization and submitted to<br />

censorship”.<br />

Article No. 11 of the EU Charter of Rights (2000):<br />

“Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes<br />

freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart<br />

information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers”.<br />

Medical ethics and freedom to consciously choose a therapy (article No. 32 of the<br />

Italian Constitution):<br />

”The Republic protects individual health as a basic right and in the public interest; it<br />

provides free medical care to the poor.<br />

Nobody may be forcefully submitted to medical treatment except as regulated by law.<br />

That law may in no case violate the limits imposed by the respect for the human<br />

being”.<br />
